Note for June 22, 01: - Me and Colin left from the parking lot at 4:30 P.M. We just had got to Canmore and wanted a nice, easy scramble to warm us up for the rest of the weekend. We got to the summit in 1 hour and 40 minutes. I didn't enjoy this scramble to much because the rock is very loose if you chose to descend the left most route and their is a great deal of traffic.

Dates Summited - June 22, 01

Elevation -2590m(8,497Ft.)

Elevation Gain - 950m

Location - Canmore

June 22, 01- Here is the route we hiked to ascend Rundle. On the ascent we followed the route outlined in red on the right of the picture. For descent we followed the route on the left of the photo. The rock was terribly loose on the descent. Me and Colin couldn't help knocking rocks down by each other. It's a good thing nobody was ascending the rock band as we were going down it because we let a very large rock slide go.

June 22, 01- This is the upper part of East Rundle. Most people ascend the route on the left but we decided to take the right route (No pun intended) The rock encountered in this picture was alot more solid than the scree that we found on descent.

June 22, 01- Here Colin is climbing up a cliff band we found right before the summit. This is one of the few places where the rock was actually good. The reason why the rock is so unstable is because of the amount of people that hike up East End Of Rundle. Even on a cold, cloudy day (As you can see in the picture below) we encountered close to 20 people on the trail.

June 10, 01- A couple weekends before June 22 I attempted East Rundle with the local hiking club. Here are the conditions we had. Around 20 minutes before the summit our group turned around because of the weather. It was extremely cold.

June 22, 01- Here I am on the summit. You can see the summit register right below my hand. This was the first white one I have ever seen. Grotto Mountain is seen to the left of my head in the background. .

June 22, 01- Here Colin is on the summit. This was his second scramble so far.
