Note for Jan 22, 05: - First lead on ice. 3*c for the day. We set up shop Friday night in the Evan Thomas parking lot and hit the trail at 11:00am Saturday. There was 3 other vehicles other than ours in the parking lot so we hoofed the approach to find Chantilly Falls open. We climbed it in two pitches. The first 50m is easy rambling. The second pitch is harder than the first. Rapelled in two pitches off trees. Later we took a hike to the base of Snowline/Moonlight and set a 30m toprope on Snowline until about 9PM when we decided to pack up. Rapelled off an abalokov.

Date -Jan 22, 05

Grade - WI2 - 2 pitches

Height Gain -100m

Location - Kananaskis Valley

Starting out on the first pitch.

Looking down to the base from the top of pitch 1

looking up at the last pitch. Two climbers soloed the route, but carried a rope up for the descent.

Stopping to put in my third screw near the top of the climb.

Colin rapelling on descent

This was taken at the base of Snowline. It's in really fat conditions here and would take 19cm screws. We ran out of daylight halfway up pitch one so we set up a top rope and climbed with headlamps. Around 9pm two double fist sized rocks fell down the route. Time to caller quits.
