Review: Ofna (True-Start) Starter box

I bought a brand New Ofna Starter box to start my RC10GT, which is running the new .12 CV-R(S) by O. S. Engines. The compression on the O. S. motor is so high, that the Ofna Starter box had some trouble turning the engine over. After about 13 cranks the O. S. compression has proved to much for the Ofna Starter box and has burned out not one but both motors in it. I am Looking to see which will be more cost effective to by an air plane style bump start or to replace the Ofna motors with stronger motors. I'll keep you all posted.

Review: MIP Light Fly wheel

I installed an MIP Light Fly wheel on my RC10GT. It has made not a small, but actually a large difference in performance. I have so much more bottom end that it has proven to be for the money the best investment. Not to Shabby for $12. I do have a complaint with this product. The blue print style instructions are a side view of the product with no given direction for the fly wheel to point in. They leave it for common sense (not the greatest Idea). The trick on this part is to point the cupped end towards the Engine and let the clutch studs stick out on the flat side. Also, when I was running my stock fly wheel I did not need to use lock tight on my clutch nut. This proved to be a very bad idea with the MIP Light Fly Wheel as it constantly unscrewed the clutch nut. Tip use the red Lock-Tite to hold on the clutch nut when using the MIP Light Fly Wheel. You should have no problems keeping everything together.

Review: MIP 4N1 Clutch

This has been a good investment for me, as a RC10GT owner the stock Associated clutch was not designed for the O. S. .12 CV-R Engine. This is a slightly stronger and faster motor. The Idle Speed for this engine is just enough to keep the stock clutch engaged even with the idle screw set so low that it is hard to keep the engine running. The MIP 4n1 Clutch is weighted and has a restrictor spring to make it engage more or less at the RPM that suits you. I used the #2 setting and to my surprise my RC10GT finally sat where I put it with the Engine running.

I found the instructions to be quite simple even for the multi-piece assembly. My tip for this part is to install the spring before slipping it onto the fly wheel. (If you wait till the it is installed on the fly wheel then you chance stretching the rather delicate spring.) The price was right and the fact that it fixed my rather ridicules predicament made it worth the small price of $12.
