thirteen crosses,
with thirteen pictures
of those who died that day.
.
Such a tragic scene
that didn't have to be
guns and bombs
trying to blow up the school -
killing hundreds of unsuspecting students.
.
Thank God they didn't go off
but these thirteen
they never again will be seen
walking the halls of tragedy
that was the place of their death.
.
Each one told a story
left with their families
who shall carry the burden
of such a horrible loss
until they too
are called home.
.
Friends wanting to forever hang on,
parents clutching every photograph
knuckles turning white -
can never let go.
.
The crosses standing there
beg us not to forget
thirteen lost their lives that day
in such a violent way.
.
I wasn't there -
never knew them -
but these crosses tell a story
that sobers the mind
and offers no excuses
for what happened -
no sense can be made
except that God knows why.
.
Thirteen crosses -
thirteen lives no more -
thirteen pictures -
thirteen victims -
thirteen crosses -
thirteen homes shattered -
thirteen bodies fallen,
and thirteen will rise again!

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your
most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves
in God's love as you wait for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
Jude 1:20-21
This website is in rememberance of all those at
Columbine High School who died that tragic day.
We will see them in a greater place in eternity some day.
