Our First Tournament! and my what an experience it was. When they say that Tourney ball is a 100% different game then Rec, WOW! its like being amazing at Street Hockey and then trying to play on the ice. Well we got there early packed into my grandma's "bus" and the adrenaline was already running high. The games where played on GRC's Outdoor Hyperball field which features a Snake, 9 and a lot of action. We started off the 6 game prelims decent almost maxing a team. However once we played the Veteran Rookie Teams (yes there is such a thing, some of these rookie teams have been together for 4+ years!) we just couldn't seem to score the points. However we did make a lot of teams mad by not allowing one max all tourney long! As our 5th game rolled along things were looking grim, we were pretty much 100% out of the semis and we were up against the 2nd place team. Quite frankly I was scared as we walked to our starting area (No Mercy's pre game ritual is one of stupidity and very intimidating). Off the break we had switched things up for this game, we sent Eric to the snake, Lil' Plague to the crack pipe, Plague to the back right doubles and my self to the center V. We all made our bunkers and started our battles. I shoot out their right front man a minute and a half into the game. Then Eric did the unthinkable he got up out of his bunker and ran at the opponent in the snake bunkering him in a less then beautiful move. This left the snake empty (Eric died 2) and Lil' Plague shot their V out. With one left I lead the final push and we got their last man out and hung the flag. we maxed the 2nd place team at the tourney and oh what a rush it was, unfortunately we did not make the playoffs and ended up getting 11 out of 19. but hey not bad for a first tournament !
