My very first experience with irish dancing was when I went to watch one of my friends dance in a school at a dance outing in 1993. I fell in love with it and immediately after we came home I drew the above picture...
When my family moved to Edmonton from Saskatoon - where we'd been living before - my sister and I found a dance school nearby and signed up.
This is me at my first feis....(awwwwwww look at my ringlets....too cute.)
After my first feis I was hooked! I practically lived for the next feis....I loved it! I dancing mostly for the pure enjoyment of DANCE for the first while, but in my third year or so, I started to improve.
This picture is an example of feis/hotel life I loved so much.
On the right is a (very blurry) picture of my very first feis in prelims. I got my first solo dress my second feis in preliminary.
I danced in prelims for about three years until I moved up to open championship...and now?....well...see those dancing sneakers?....hehehe....those are basically my feet at school, in church, at dance class....everywhere!
