The Ace of Spades was walking down Main Street.  Just strolling along, window shopping some, saying hi to some fans, and signing some autographs.  But one elderly lady, struck up a conversation with Ace as he passed her, while she was sitting on a fence.

Elderly Woman: The world needs heroes Ace.  You said you were that hero.

Ace: I'm sorry Ma'am, it was just a gimmick.  But I agree, the world does need heroes.

Elderly Woman: You lied to all of us!!  You said you would save us all!!

Ace: I'm sorry lady, it was a gimmick, I'm not a hero.

Elderly Woman: You're right!  But Sephiroth Du Lac, will be the Doomsday to your Superman...The Bane to your Batman!

Ace: Whatever lady, I'm not going to argue with you.

Elderly Woman: The Joker to your Jason Todd!!

Ace froze up.  That last phrase sent a chill down Ace's spine.  Could Sephiroth Du Lac "kill" The Ace Of Spades.  Ace shook his head, and smirked.

Ace: Sorry lady, Jason Todd deserved to be offed, Tim Drake is a much better Robin.

Ace just walked away from the lady, and continued to stroll.  A few yards ahead of him a woman got her purse stolen.  Ace tried to run to the woman, and catch up to the thief, but by the time he got there, the thief and the lady's purse was gone.

Lady: Some hero you are!!

The lady stomped her foot and walked away.  Ace dropped his head.  And kept walking.  Maybe the superhero gimmick did more harm than good.  Before Ace could even decide if he was right or wrong, he heard someone yell for help.  Another woman was being mugged, but this time the robber had a gun.  Ace knew of only one thing to do, he looked to his left and saw and empty phone booth.

Ace: Sometimes it takes a tragedy to set your mind straight!

Ace rips off his shirt and pants while in the booth, and reveals the new AceMan-suit.   He runs and catches up to the armed thief and punches his face.  The villain drops the gun and the purse and lies on the floor motionless.  Ace winks at the woman an runs in the opposite direction, heading toward the elderly woman.  He finally gets back to the bench where the elderly woman is still sitting and looks at her.

Ace: You were right ma'am!  I am the hero this world needs!

Elderly Woman: I knew you couldn't turn your back on the world.  But there is a new villain you must defeat!

Ace: I know ma'am!  Sephiroth Du Lac will be the next to feel the power of AceMan!!  And he will be brought to justice!

Elderly Woman: That's the Ace-Man I know!!  Go get him Ace-Man!!

Ace-Man runs away and disappears from the elderly woman's site
