INRI announce today that they are reforming for another album and tour.
The decision was made after a year break where the mambers of the band had time out from their vitually non-stop touring. INRI say they have had time to recooperate get their feet back on the ground and catch up with friends and family.
Frontman John 'Popey' Paul says that he has spent his time away from the band making up for valuable family time like learning to surf with his son Hosiah and playing playstation with his two nephews and shopping with his partner Tone and 'basically just "keeping it real" with Jesus.'
He also says the band is coming back with some exciting new ideas for the studio and the stage so watch out!
In August 2000 INRI finished touring their first album on which they broke 'a personal record' in cd sales. They stated in January 1999 and planned to only tour the South Island for three months. However, due to their popularity, so many youth groups and churches asked them back that as soon as they got back to Invercargill (their home town) they thought they had better do another round (not unlike drummer Mugzee's favourite, Havoc and Newsboy's 'Victory Lap' show). Whilst doing this they were asked up the North Island and on another round, over to OZ. 'That took us all out,' says Popey. 'That and God who wanted us to relax and Keep it Real.'
They do not yet know where they will record the forth coming album, as Popey says 'we haven't had this much money before so we haven't had to decide these sort of things before. The first record was only recorded off the PA at church during a jam one night.'
