BUD/S CLASS 233

RIP LCDR ERIK KRISTENSEN! GOD BLESS YOU! - June 28, 2005

Hello, Welcome to the unofficial web-page for BUD/S class 233. BUD/S, as you may know, stands for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training. Plainly put, it's the intial training and selection program for Navy SEAL's. The first arrivals for class 233 arrived in late june and the class Just graduated on 30 march, 2001. Out of the original 108 men that began 1st phase only 23 of those remain with the class at this time. Some have been medically rolled into later classes, others dropped for various reasons but the vast majority of them have voluntarily disenrolled from the program(they quit). We have since received 5 "roll backs" which almost every class receives in various times in training, leaving the number of graduates at 28 of the most hardcore men around. Our class was the first (and only) class to swim a 5.5nm ocean swim from straight out to sea. It was very interesting when one of the submarines from the local Sub Base popped up in the middle of our swimmers. Also, class 233 got the rare experience of doing their land Nav portion of training in about 6 inches of snow all week long. Snow in California?!!?, Oh YEAH, sent in just for 233 i'm sure!! To add to our bragging rights, I would like to note that the winner of the Super Frog 2000' Triathalon team event was none other than a team composed of 3 guys from BUD/S class 233. Great job Cravens(swimming), Virgin(biking), and Hickman(running). Well, It's all over now but 233 live in memory for a long time to come. HOOYAH gentlemen!!!!
