Ty's Beanie Babies were introduced in
January of 1994. The first releases were Spot
the Dog, Chocolate the Moose, Flash the Dolphin,
Splash the Whale, Legs the Frog, Squealer the Pig,
Pinchers the Lobster, Cubbie the Bear, and Patti the
Platypus. The popularity grew to new heights when
McDonald's offered Teenie Beanie Babies in the Happy
Meals in April of 1997. On December 31, 1999 at 11:59 p.m. all the current Beanie Babies were retired.
On February 13, 2000, 20 new beanies were released. Ty released a total of 70 new Beanies throughout 2000, which included the Chinese Zodiac. January 1, 2001 Ty released 7 new beanies. And The Beans Go On... But, as for us, no more beanies. We've stopped collecting all the beanies. Sold most of them. We will continue to buy the Bears.
