BroncoII Information

Bronco 2's were offered from '1983-'1990, In 1990 the BroncoII ended and was replaced by the Ford Explorer

2 engines offered: '84-'85 had 2.8L engine. 170 cu in, 2 bbl carb 115 hp @ 4600 rpm, 150 lb/ft @ 2600 rpm '86-'90 had 2.9L engine. 179 cu in, efi 140 hp @ 4600 rpm, 170 lb/ft @ 2600 rpm

2 automatic transmissions offered: '84-'85 automatic C5. '85 1/2-'90 automatic A4LD (2.47, 1.47, 1.00, 0.75:1)

2 manual transmissions offered: '84-'90 manual Toyo Koyo (3.96, 2.08, 1.39, 1.00, 0.85:1) '85-'90 manual Mitsubishi (3.97, 2.14, 1.36, 1.00, 0.84:1)

1 transfer case offered: BW1350 (2.48:1, 1.00:1) manual or electronic

83/86 Dana 28 TTB had Larger spindles and smaller bearings then the 87/90 89 model first with the MAF equipped 2.9 v6 86-87 model 2.9's had larger intake porting than 88 and up.

87 and up had renforced suport beams behind the door. Done by increasing the thickness of the inner jam structure. *not as affective as ford would have liked :rolleyes:*

89/90's frame widened at the front bumper by 1/2" to allow for the new front clip.
