RAVEN'S HAUNTS.

The Hayfield, Mile End Road.

The Hayfield is my second home. It is an okay place, frequented mostly by students and the like. The best thing about the Hayfield is tuesday nights when it is £1.00 per drink. (The only place I can get pissed on less than a tenner!!!) It has a good atmosphere and reasonably priced drinks. It's also the place i used to work. The one drawback is the management; The guvnor and I have fallen out in the past due to an incident that occured when I was working there. He cannot run a pub to save his life, and the pub would go under if the rest of the staff were not as dedicated.

Q Bar, formerly The Grave Maurice, Whitechapel Road.

Me and Dean go here sometimes to chat up the barmaid. It is alright, but a little bit dark and full of russians and poles. They play a kind of techno music that is very repetitive and usually gives us a headache, which is why we only usually stay for a couple.

The Urban Bar (London Hospital Tavern) Whitechapel Road.

A great pub for live music, whatever your tastes. The Urban Bar does a show on the first friday of every month promoting unsigned talent from rock groups to MC's and stand up comedians in the upstairs bar. The decor is one of the best in the area although the upstairs bar reminds me of someone's front room. A good selection of drinks including the much sought after Desperado beer. Also has live snakes in tanks and free popcorn is given out. The jukebox is one of those video jukeboxes but has the most extensive selection i have ever seen, including some Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. The one drawback, and it is quite a major drawback, the draught beer is very bad quality and tastes like the pumps have never been cleaned.

The Edinburgh Cellars, Newington Green

This is the pub where we usually meet up with Alfie. They have karaoke on fridays which is always a laugh and they serve Thai food, which I have never tried from there but it is supposed to be quite nice. Also has pool tables and a very lively atmosphere.
