GO PANTHERS

BASEBALL HAS BEGUN!!

This page will be used to inform you about the Euclid Panther baseball team. 05 state champs!

(sorry for the lack of recent updates)
The Panthers have been on a tear in the past two weeks. They picked up key LEL wins over lakewood, admiral king, southview, and shaker. The only loss in the past 8 games was the 3-2 defeat suffered at Jacob's field on May 6. With the most recent win against shaker, the Panthers are now 15-9 (9-3 LEL).
The Panthers started the week by defeating eastlake north in the sectional final on tuesday. Ross was the winning pitcher. The panthers' 9 run 5th was enough to end the game in 6 innings. DJ Grida led the offense with a 3-4 performance with a HR. Nick Mandic and Ryan Renbarger had back-to-back bunt singles after a leadoff 2b by Jim Martin. The Panthers then sent the remaining 11 batters of the inning to do the rest of the damage, including base hits by Matt Desico, Mike Palko, and Steve Rogowski. Nick Mavar pitched the final two innings to close out the game at 14-4.
Ben Perpar came up big in another LEL matchup vs admiral king. The panthers had payback in store for king. after trailing 2-0, and 3-2, Euclid took the lead 5-3 and never looked back, winning 7-3. Perpar did not strike out a batter, but held king to 5 hits. The offense was led once again by bunt single by Mandic and Renbarger, which started a 3 run inning. Rogowski, Grida, and M Palko each had an rbi.
The Panthers did not stop their tear through the LEL when they traveled to shaker. Renbarger led the game off with a towering homerun. The Panthers led the entire game, providing just enough offense behind winning pitcher Jim Palko, who gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings of work to pick up his 3rd LEL win. Doug Burkhart came in the game in the 7th and struck out 3 to pick up the save. Grida, Rogowski, M Palko, Krofcheck, Ross, Mandic, and Martin all chipped in at the plate
Next game is at Captains stadium Vs Mentor @3:30, in the opening game of 3,,,(ndcl/iggy @6,,, north/south @8)
Congratulations to Ryan Renbarger and Matt Desico. The two Panthers were added to the Buckeye Scout Top 100 list for the class of '06 this past week.
