Instructions
The war will be held on Saturday,
the 11th. It will be at the 475th Army Reserve Base in Beaver, PA. There will be
an American team. A German Team. YOU MUST BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED, everything
you bring you are responsible for. See Q&A for an equipment list.
Scenario
The US will attack the Germans and need to take
over key capture points. Then capture the German base to win. The Germans will
need to push the U.S. back to their base and capture theirs to win. This is not
a death match, where you kill everyone and win. If you get shot you are dead and
you need to go back to your base to back into the game. The U.S. will not have
any bunkers because the paratroopers did not have bunkers when they dropped to
Normandy. If we have enough people there will be a British unit. They will be
placed far from the U.S. team. They will need to fight their way to rendezvous
with the U.S. No team will have an easy battle. The terrain is very rough. It's
a valley will lots of trees and hills, A running creek, rocks, mud, coal hills.
This is not a game for tennis shoes.
Layout
We will arrive at the
base on Friday, the 10th, at 1830 until 2000 and sign in. You will get a safety
briefing, a scenario briefing, and the rules for the war. We will set up the
teams and camp. Wake up time will be at 0700 and we will have breakfast for a
1/2 hour (reminder to bring your own food, you can buy food at Wal-mart). The
teams will go to their base and the game will be called over the radio. A half
hour will be set for lunch. and continue the war until its over, then sign out
at about 1630.
Rules, guidelines and hints
SAFETY-safety always comes first.
If you remain safe then you should still have fun. If you follow your commanding
officer's commands then you should be safe. It is his job to lead you into harms
way and keep you out of it.
Commands- If you are not a commanding officer then you
will have to follow commands. There will be a chain of command that you must
follow.
Teamwork- Teamwork is key, if you and your team work as a team
then you will win for sure. It comes down to who works as a team better.
Communication- communication is apart of teamwork. You must
communicate with your team to plan attacks, take over key points and keep from
shooting your own team.
I wouldn't advise you
drink pop during the game. If you do bring it, you drink it after the war or the
night before. It's Hummel's war, you have to go over that with him. You should
only drink water during the war. Gatorade is fine too.
Equipment- You are responsible
for everything you bring. Do not bring more than you can handle.
Cheating- if any one is caught cheating
they will be thrown out of the game. Cheating includes, listening to the other
team's radio frequency. Being outside to border line to recon on the other
team, get somewhere without running into the enemy, or for any other reason.
