"Alone we can
do so little; together we can do so much."
~ Helen Keller ~
A website designed by Aaron Waymire
When working on all of the Discourse assignments,
one theme remained clear throughout: the idea of TOGETHERNESS.
Without people working together to make this world a better place,
nobody would accomplish nearly as much as what they are capable
of. I chose the handshake as my emblem to show that people all
over the world can come together and achieve many great things.
Each of my websites deal with togetherness in different ways:
Career
Discourse - People work together everyday to make
the newspaper a collaberation of many different stories, views,
and ideas. Without the hard work of each individual, newspapers
would never be a success. A major part of the success of newspapers
is the editor.
Family Discourse
- My family has been brought together by sports for many years.
Whether attending a sporting event or watching on television,
sports have been a big part of our family growing up.
Entertainment Discourse
- One of the most famous shows in television history is The Cosby
Show. The Huxtable clan worked together to make their family the
best they could be. As a result, millions of people were influenced
by seeing exactly how families should stick together no matter
what the situation may be.
Community Discourse
- The most famous event in my hometown of Binghamton, New York,
is the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Ralley. Each summer, thousands
of people are brought together to celebrate a Binghamton tradition:
the spiedie. For 4 days, fun and entertainment takes over during
the beginning of each August. Without the hard work of hundreds
of individuals, none of this could ever be possible.
