Mt Vesuvius Errupts

Today Vesuvius, what was thought to be an inactive volcano, has errupted leaving the city of Pompei in tears and ashes. Vesuvius is deeply scarred by lava flow, but its lower sides are very fertile, dotted with villages, and covered with vineyards which produce famous wine. The base of the mountain is encircled by a road, and what was the city of Pompei. This huge volcano, what they thought to be a mountain, has been errupting for the last 72 hours. One of the most dangerous events to ever happen yet in history. The great earth quake destroying most of Pompei left them with much to fix, but this was far worse. As people ran for cover, they ran just to find that the city of Herculaneum was also set aflame by the seeping lava. Since then, it has often been surmounted by a faint cloud of smoke. This erruption was described by a man who lived there," The eruption buried Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Stabiae under cinders, ashes, and mud." Pompei is now left with nothing but to start from the beginning, and a recovery period has been brought to this large city.
