Four months ago a match containing thirty people went ahead. On the Slam before the Royal Rumble Matt Hardy and Sean O’Haire had gone one on one to determine who would make it to the Royal Rumble as the thirtieth entrant. In a cruel ‘Twist of Fate’ Sean O’Haire picked up the victory and gained the number thirty-entry position in the Rumble. As for Matt Hardy he was stuck with being the first man in the Rumble Match. In a match that turned out to be a huge trial for Version 1, he was stuck with being the number one entrant into the 2003 Royal Rumble. In a match that turned out to be a classic Rumble, Matt Hardy put on a show and proved he deserved a title shot even if he didn’t end up winning the match. He lasted the longest in the match but was eliminated with only five Superstars remaining. A month later and another chance arose for Version 1. Matt Hardy would face three other men in a match to determine who would go to WrestleMania 2 to fight for the WM2k1 Championship. Again Matt Hardy put in a tremendous performance but still could not get the job done when it came to winning the match. Finally being eliminated by Sean O’Haire. A lot of people would have given up then but Matt Hardy fought on towards a number one contenders match at WrestleMania 2. Matt was set to face Brock Lesnar and Mankind in a triple threat match until Big Show and Version 1 changed it. On the Heat preceding WrestleMania 2 Version 1 and the Big Show would proceed to take out Brock Lesnar and make his match at Mania a one on one match. Matt Hardy then finished the night off successfully by defeating Mankind and gaining his chance at the WM2k1 Heavyweight Championship. For a man who has be proclaiming that he is a future WM2k1 Champion this is a dream come true and now the questions must begin. After all the talking and all the guarantees that Matt Hardy will be the WM2k1 Champion, the question looms! Eyebrows are twitching and tongues are beginning to wag… after all his talk could Matt Hardy actually win the title? The match has had some more heat added to it now with the introduction of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H. Two men who are definitely huge names in this business and who have proved themselves worthy over the last three months. This one is certainly going to be a match for the ages. Rikishi and Matt Hardy have some history going into this one and I’m sure both men will be looking to settle things but the question is, who will be the one to settle it? A championship match of this scale can only be held at one place and that is at a wMe Pay Per View. The show has already sold out, no doubt it is largely because of this huge match brought to you by Slam but it’s sure to be a slobber knocker when these four get into the ring and fight it out for the richest prize in the game. The WM2k1 Heavyweight Championship is what everyone works for year round and this Sunday we could have a new champion? The only thing I am sure of is that all four of these men will give it their all at

The scene opens with Big Show walking up to a locker room. The door opens and Big Show walks into the locker room and then he stops dead in the spot. The camera quickly turns and we see Matt Hardy with a replica WM2k1 Heavyweight Championship belt on his shoulder and he is looking in a mirror and is striking poses. Big Show looks a little confused and a little scared to ask what Matt is doing.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Hey Matt, what are you doing?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Hey Show, I am just seeing what the WM2k1 Title will look like on my shoulder. It looks great doesn’t it.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah I suppose. But my next question would have to be why are you seeing what the WM2k1 Title will look like on your shoulder?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Well I want to see if it will look better on my shoulder or around my waist.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah well I suppose that makes sense. I mean what else would you be thinking about? You couldn’t be thinking about the match at Downfall. I mean who cares if you actually win the belt or not? The only thing that matters is if you look good with the belt on if you do win it isn’t that right Matt?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah that’s right… Wait a second. What has you so uptight? I mean I already told you that I am going to win the title.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah you told me that but there are some things that even you can’t control Matt.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Whatever you say Show but this isn’t one of them. This one of the many things that I have total control over. The WM2K1 Title is coming home this Tuesday.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – I don’t know how you can be so sure of yourself. I mean I have my doubts. I sometimes think that you can’t do it. I mean I do you really think that this match is going to be a walk over? Well do you? Because if you do think that then…

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Shut up Show. I know exactly what this match is going to be. This match is going to be an outright war. When it comes down to it I will be in the ring with three of the greatest superstars there are in this business. Oh I know I talk a big match and to be honest I believe everything I say but I still respect the hell out of my opponents… Well all of them except Rikishi.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – How can you not respect Rikishi? He is the WM2k1 Champion.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- It is very simple. I don’t respect Rikishi because he waddles like a duck. I’m telling you when he walks to the ring I am always thinking where is the “Quack, Quack”. I mean you would think that a WM2k1 Champion like him would put some effort into walking to the ring. You would think that he would take some weight loss classes and try and lose some of the weight he has. I mean for you it isn’t as gross. You are packing it all over your body. In your biceps and your forearms where you can put it to good use. Where does Rikishi pack it? Oh yeah he packs it around his ass. Don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that he doesn’t use it well but for a guy that makes so many references to his opponents being homosexual he sure does like to stick his ass into people a lot. I mean he can’t even contain himself in the ring. He is just looking for the next man he can bend over in front of and back that ass up into…. Oh the thought make’s me sick. How am I supposed to respect a champion like that and how the hell am I supposed to expect the people of this world to respect a championship that is held by a jackass like that?

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – You should be able to respect him because of what he has done in the ring. I mean granted he doesn’t look very good but in the ring there isn’t one person in this world who can say that he hasn’t backed up his words in the ring.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Oh he has backed his words up alright. He has backed them up at Royal Rumble, No Way Out and then at WrestleMania 2. For god sakes if it was someone that knew nothing about Version 1 looking at this match then they would say that Rikishi is going to win all over again but for everyone that knows me. For everyone that knows what Version 1 is about this match is different. This match isn’t about what has happened in the past. No Way Out and the Royal Rumble are all just distant memories now because this Tuesday at Downfall is going to change the pattern. Everyone that knows me knows that this Tuesday is the Downfall of Rikishi’s grip on my career. Even I have to admit it. The fact that I haven’t beaten Rikishi in singles competition is holding me back. If it wasn’t for that fact then I would be the most celebrated superstar in the world right now but I am not. I just need to get this victory over Rikishi. I just need to get that one, two, three and then I will be happy.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah but you can’t be thinking about this match like it is only about you and Rikishi. There are two other guys in this match too. I’ve been in the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H and I can tell you that they are no slouches. These are not legends for nothing. These guys deserve to be here as much as you or Rikishi. These guys are going to bring everything you can handle and more. I just hope you are ready for it.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah of course I am ready for it but you have to remember that those two are only small fry in this match. Don’t think that I am going into this match thinking about nothing only the WM2k1 Championship. I mean yeah that title does mean everything to me but you also have to realize that this is personal between Rikishi and Matt Hardy. I mean I know what he has been saying about me. He has been talking about me like I am nothing. He has been saying that I don’t deserve a shot at his gold. He actually had the balls to say that I was rubbish. That offends me Show and to be honest there is nothing I would like to do more than to take my boot and stick it right up his rectum.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah but what about Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H? You need to plan for them too.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Don’t worry about them. I’ll distract Stone Cold Steve Austin with a can of beer and I’ll just stick the can to Triple H’s back and that will take care of the both of them.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Hey Matt, please quit the jokes this is serious.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Oh this is serious is it? I hadn’t noticed. I mean a shot at the gold I have worked for all my life. I never expected that to be serious. Don’t you think I know that? Stone Cold and Triple H will be taken care of. I will kick the crap out of them the very same way I did on Slam. I had Triple H beaten for god sakes if it wasn’t for that damn Stone Cold I would have got the three. I would have had the win but instead he hits me with a damn sledgehammer. I mean why the hell did he have to get involved in the match? It was none of his goddamn business.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Well he could say the same thing about you later in the night. I mean you did attack him after his match. That was none of your business.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- What?!? It was totally my business. He attacked me so he made it my business. I couldn’t have him thinking that I was a walkover. I needed to show him that he needs to respect Matt Hardy as the Next WM2k1 Champion and attacking him was the only way I could think of doing it.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah I know I was there remember? And besides I agree with that decision. You needed to get your role going heading into Downfall. Now that Downfall is so close though you need to stop all the jokes and start concentrating on the task and hand and start thinking about your opponents.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah don’t worry about it I have it covered. Come on I have to go see the production manager.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Why the hell do you need to see the production manager right now?

Matt walks out of the locker room and Big Show follows him. It looks like Big Show isn’t very happy about how Matt Hardy is looking at this match.

The scene opens with Matt Hardy walking into an office and then the Big Show following him. Big Show shuts the door and Matt looks angry as the chair swivels around.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- I want to know what you have planned for when I win the WM2k1 Championship?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- I mean when I win the title what are you going to do? Is there going to be balloons and confetti dropped all over the arena? Is there going to be pyro’s going off on stage and a V1 logo flashing all over the arena? What is going to happen when I win the WM2k1 Championship?

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well most likely if you win the title your music will play and you will get the belt handed to you by the referee.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Is that it? What else is going to happen? Is there going to be nothing to mark the occasion?

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well to be honest with you we only spend money on shows to mark the occasion when we are sure we will be able to use them and we are not sure that we will if we get something for you winning the WM2k1 Championship. I just think it’s an outside chance of happening and I can’t sink company funds into an outside chance. You understand don’t you?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- An outside chance? How can you say that Matt Hardy winning the WM2k1 Championship is an outside chance. I have been looked upon as a future champion since I arrived. On my first ever Slam the world found out that I was here for a reason when I went to the ring and voiced my opinions. How can I be an outside chance?

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well a lot of things have changed since then and one of those things that have changed is that Rikishi has gotten better and is now the best WM2k1 Champion we could hope for.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- No you seem to be confusing Rikishi with Version 1. The best WM2k1 Champion you could hope for is standing in front of you and you should be ready to throw him some celebrations when he wins the title at Downfall.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- I am truly sorry Matt but I tried to get something set up for you if you won but the board of directors wouldn’t have it. They said it was too unlikely to happen. They just don’t think you have what it takes to beat Rikishi.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- You have got to be kidding me. Are you honestly trying to tell me that no one in this company believes I can beat Rikishi?

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- I believe you can I just think it’s going to be hard.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah well you know you are all wrong. The WM2k1 Championship is mine and I promise you that. There isn’t a hope in hell of me getting pinned or submitting in this match. I don’t care if he breaks every bone in my body there is no way in hell that he is going to beat me and stop me from becoming the Heavyweight Champion.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well I would like to believe that Matt but what happens if he hits that Bonzai Drop and you can’t push out. I mean it will not be easy to push out of that with a three hundred and fifty pound man sitting on you it might be too hard for even you to accomplish.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Look I don’t know where you are getting all this attitude from but you should not be talking to me like that. I am one of the biggest superstars Slam has… No wait a second I am the biggest Superstar Slam has and I am the best too. You people should be singing my praises instead of treating me like this.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well if you want you could take your ball and go to Smackdown like Mankind did.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Don’t tempt me cause I might just do it. All I am saying is that you should be showing me more respect and more gratitude. If it wasn’t for me then Slam wouldn’t be a success. Do you think Slam could run without me? I am the cornerstone of Slam. Without me the whole show would just fall apart.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- I don’t know about that but I do agree that you are a big star I just don’t think the show would fall apart without you.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Well you don’t have to believe me to make it true. Matt Hardy is the future of this business and that’s the way it is. Do you think that people would be happy watching Rikishi waddle his fat ass to the ring every week and run his mouth like it’s a dog chasing a bone? Do you think people would be happy doing that every week? Because if you do think that then you are hallucinating.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- I don’t think that at all.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Good because the people want to see someone with charisma and in ring ability that is far greater than the likes of Rikishi. People want to see Superstars like Matt Hardy. It would serve you and Slam well if you would remember that and treat me the way I should be treated.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Well I think you are treated very well around here. In fact I think you get treated about as good as anyone else if not better.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah well if I do what am I going to get as a celebration for when I win the WM2k1 Championship?

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Nothing. It’s been decided on Matt so there is nothing you or anyone can do about it. You are just going to have to live with it.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Ah come on Janet. I really need to have something to mark the occasion.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Wont winning the championship be enough for you?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Of course it will be enough for me but I am thinking of the fans. I don’t want my fans to remember the first time their hero won the championship as just a normal event. I want them to remember it as a spectacular event that will go down in history as one of the best ever. I am going to do the best I can to make it that way in the ring. Now it is your job to make it happen in the surroundings.

-|[ Production Manager (|) Janet ]|- Look all I can offer you right now is a few pyro’s going off on the stage and lights flashing all over the arena. How does that sound?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- How does that sound? Less than perfect but it will have to do. You know I wonder sometimes. Maybe I was born to early. Maybe I should have been born in twenty years time. Maybe people would know how to treat a Huge Superstar then better than they do now.

Matt walks out of the production manager’s office but he doesn’t look happy. Maybe pyro’s on the stage and a few flashing lights are not enough for Matt. The scene fades to black as Matt walks off down the corridor with Big Show behind him.

The scene opens with Matt Hardy in the hallway of the arena. He is on his cell phone and he looks angry.

They say that the interest that Rikishi will bring in alone from the wrestling fan base will more than pay for the making of the film and as for the interest from other people it looks like it is going to be a very profitable film to say the least.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- I can’t believe they are making a film and including Rikishi in it. They should have picked me. I would make a much better actor than Rikishi. I can do everything else better than him why wouldn’t they believe I can do this better than him too?

-|[ Batty boy Voice (|) ????? ]|- I don’t know. Maybe they don’t see it the same was as you do. Maybe they think that you are not as good as Rikishi or something. I don’t know but that’s what it sounds like to me.

Matt holds the cell phone away from his ear and makes a talking motion with his other hand. It looks like this is irritating him. I guess this really does sum up his week. It has been a disaster from the very beginning.

-|[ Batty boy Voice (|) ????? ]|- No I’m not done…

Matt holds the phone away from his ear and then hovers his finger over the button before pressing it. I guess Matt doesn’t like listening to non-stop nagging but then again who does. Just then Big Show walks up to him.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Hey man who was that?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- It was the receptionist from the airport. The fat cow showed no respect for me at all.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Where are the bags anyway?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- They are still in San Antonio.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – SAN ANTONIO?!?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah some fool forgot to pack them on the luggage cart. Now it will be about three days before I get them back. That’s just brilliant. All I have are these clothes and the other case of clothes.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – You can borrow some of mine if you want to.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Thanks for the offer but I think I will make do with what I have of my own thanks Show. I don’t think that anything you own would ever fit me.

Big Show walks off drinking a cup of coffee and enters the locker room as Matt Hardy stands in the hallway and he looks extremely angry. Oh I pity Rikishi, Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin at Downfall. Matt Hardy is going to get into the ring and take all the frustrations from this week out on them. The scene fades to black with Matt still standing in the hall.

- Scene -

The scene opens with a shot of Madison Square Garden. After a few seconds the shot changes and we find Matt Hardy inside it and for some bizarre reason there is a wrestling ring set up in the arena. Matt Hardy is walking around it and Big Show is walking down towards the ring. Big Show slides into the ring and the arena is in total silence. Matt is looking out at all the empty chairs and up at the stands and then he starts to talk.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- You know this is where it all began for me. Right here in Madison Square Garden. Just four weeks ago this place was housing the greatest show the world has ever seen. WrestleMania 2 was off the hook show and it was where it all began.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah it was man but you need to be thinking about the future not the past.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- I can’t help it Show. Last month at WrestleMania 2 was when it all started for me. I mean all the time’s before that I had slipped up and I had not quite got the job done even though I had given it everything that I had to get the goddamn job done and I just couldn’t do it. Then at Mania everything started to change for the better. Everything started to turn good. For the first time since I debuted on Slam I was actually getting somewhere. Now that the time is getting so close I can’t believe it. In a few days time my dreams could all be accomplished. I could be the next WM2k1 Champion. Do you know what that would mean to me? That would be my life’s dream achieved. Everything I have ever worked for would have been worth it. If I win at Downfall then it will mean that my life has been worthwhile.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah but even if you don’t win at Downfall. You can still try again. You can still come back after a while and get another shot. I mean even if you lose to Rikishi at Downfall it will not be the end of the world anyway now will it?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yes it will be the end of the world. It’s about Downfall Show. There is no coming back and doing this again. There is no trying again. It’s about winning at Downfall and becoming the champion.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – Yeah I know that is what you want to happen but I’m just saying that it wont be the end of your career or anything like that if you do lose. You can still come back again.

This Tuesday is what I have been working towards my whole life. Everything I have ever wanted and everything I have ever dreamed of becoming is embodied in that belt and winning it. Well winning it would make my life’s dream a reality. Can you imagine what it is like to have to wait until Downfall for my dreams to become reality?

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Hard to bear? It’s bloody torture. I don’t know whether I am coming or going. I don’t know if what I am thinking about half the time. I find myself in the middle of the day dreaming about the goddamn title. I wouldn’t wish this feeling on anyone Show. It is the worst I have ever felt in my life but I would gladly go through pain a hundred times worst than this to get my championship belt.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- I know it’s not my belt yet. I also know that if I don’t win the belt at Downfall then I will regret it for the rest of my life. The title is on the line and this is what haunts my dreams. For the last few weeks I have been thinking about nothing else other than that damn match has been changed to a four way and before those two weeks I was thinking about nothing other than the fact that the belt was going to be mine. I am getting my shot. Do you know how killer it is to have to wait a month for the shot of your dreams? To have to wait this long is like the powers that be in wMe are trying to make me go through excruciating pain so that I have paid my dues when I win the freaking title.

-|[ Version 1.0 (|) Matt Hardy ]|- Yeah I know. They wanted to make sure that the match was covered well enough. It’s always about the money isn’t it? Why can’t it be about the superstar for once? I mean I deserve to have Downfall all about me and nothing else.

-|[ Biggest MF-er (|) Big Show ] – It should be but it’s not. You need to get over that fact and move on. The title is what matters now and nothing else. This place was just a stepping-stone towards a bigger arena and a better match. You should be at the Joe Louis Arena right now thinking about what is going to go down there at Downfall.

The scene fades to black with Matt Hardy taking one last look around the arena where he earned a shot at the WM2k1 Champion Rikishi. He has some good memories here but will he be able to make memories that are as good in the Joe Louis Arena? We will have to wait until Downfall to find out.
