Until in the 23 episode Wolfwood is shot by his master under the power of Legato Bluesummers, a man with the power to take control of a persons body, and Legato often pins people that are close to each other against each other. Vash has to fight Legato because Legato pins down the insurance ladies and then makes a group of civilians shoot at them, when Vash points his gun at Legato's head and cries because he remembered how Rem told him that nobody has the right to take the life of another. In the end he shoots Legato in the head and of course Legato dies, then he knows that he must fight his brother who is the leader of the gang and sets off to do so. Finally at the end Vash confronts his brother Knives, in the finale battle of the series. I'd have to say that it was a very interesting confrontation that I enjoyed very much. Vash wins after the long epic fight and caries his hurt brother away on his shoulder as he barely clings to life and happily walks off into the lonely desert.
