Wind was steady off shore about 10 to 15 mph. You can see the bend in
the coconut branches. |
Willing hands to put her in the water. Tide was not full but I couldn't wait
any longer. Gotta go sailing. |
Grandpa did the honors with the duck and Prating handled the blessing. Crosses
made with blood guarantee safe sailing to all who venture out to sea in Sea
Angel and once the Gods have been apeased it's time to put her in the water for
the first time. Filipinos are a superstitious bunch and Edna was not going
to go out in the boat unless this ritual was performed. |
