Telemachus is the son of Penelope and Odysseus. He was separated from his father when he was a baby, so he grew up with his mother's care. Throughout the book, Telemachus changes from being immature and scared, to being strong and independent. The goddess Athena helps him through his journey by disguising herself. When Telemachus returns from his journey, he shows how much he has matured.
