The Siena Cappuccino Machine - A Process
Description
Introduction
The Siena
cappuccino machine (figure 1) forces about 1.5 ounces of hot water through
tightly packed ground espresso coffee and creates a small amount of extremely
strong coffee resulting in a dark brown, slightly thick liquid that is
sometimes added to milk, which creates cappuccino. The Siena cappuccino machine process consists of four parts:
programming, grinding, brewing, and warming.

The Siena
cappuccino machine allows users to program the strength of coffee by touching a
button that tells the machine how strong the coffee should be. Also the cappuccino machine allows users to
program the cup size, the milk foam amount, the water temperature, and the
rinse and clean by touching a button that then sends a signal to the
machine. There is also a timer on the
machine that turns the machine of after a certain period off time (Figure 2).

Adjustable grinding allows the grinding process to
be less noisy and prevents less dust particles by the keeping the coffee ground
in a special compartment (figure 3).
The adjustable grinder also allows the machine to consistently produce a
perfect grind of coffee.

The automatic brew chamber brews two cups of
cappuccino in a single brewing cycle by having a single pump (figure 4) with
two sets of programmers attached to it.

Warming
The double product dispenser has a heating element
located directly beneath the cups to allow constant warming of the
cappuccino. The warmer can be on or off
to the discretion of the user.
