Who's Kyle Roxx?

Kyle Roxx started his career in 1989 after receiving a promotion from office clerk to Assistant Manager of the local Winn Dixie where he started working at the age of fifteen. While working a full time job, Kyle was still able to devout another full time amount of hours into his band Roxx-ET. The band played punk, looked extravagant, and sounded mildly Clash-ish. The band officially started out in 1988, but didn't start grabbing spots at clubs until late 1989. At this point Kyle was putting in nearly sixty hours a week into the band and giving most of his paycheck to buying studio hours, new guitars, and food for the band.

By 1990 Roxx-ET finally got a small taste of success, by making their own local punk rock package tour, which hit nineteen clubs, and made the group a hefty chunk of profits. Over two thousand of Roxx-ET's Debut Days cassettes were sold, and two hundred shirts/patches saw purchases left and right. Kyle had finally brought successes to the group through his Oi-Punk style of lyrics writing and mid-80's Bay Area guitar riffs. Fans started getting into the band, money started coming in, and as anyone would expect...the greed took over. Roxx-ET singer Mr. Bone, decided in late 1991 (when the band was to audition before Geffen) to leave the band. Effectively the audition was ruined, but alas... he returned.

Kyle: Losing the chance to show Geffen what we could do, was a real low point in our careers. Bone just got scared that they'd like us and want to cut him. To be honest and this nothing to do with having been fired, he wasn't ever really the ideal singer for our group. He knew and knows it, but the chemistry was right, and we just chose to work around his shortcomings. In 1996, after virtually five years of nothing, we decided to write a real record. Our new label, VL-19 Records spotted us six grand to get into their studio and do it.
It was a real deal type of recording, we finally had a producer and engineer to work with, we had a very impressive studio to work in, and we had a Who's Who list of local artists to come in and help us with exotic sounds, from weird ($$$) percussion to vintage guitars and amps. Everyone in the band could feel that this album was going to give us that second chance after dissing Geffen. After nine weeks we had recorded Last Verses. And then...the masters got stolen and Bone quit the band for a second time. I went off the deepend, he got sued, and we were screwed again b/c of him. His story was simply that he wasn't proud of the vocals. He didn't think the music I wrote was suitable and implied I should quit and move on. I didn't, so the record got shelved.

Since '96 I hadn't heard squat from the band, since I moved to Daytona Beach. We occasionally had lunch and/or exchanged holiday greeting cards, but nothing band-wise. In January '03 they summoned me to the band's studio and fired me. I was like who cares?

News!!!

Feb.21 - I hung out with T.J. from Roxx-ET at a local bar and we talked about how fucked up our lives were going. Roxx-ET got dropped from their label (lol), it seems Bone went to tell them the good news and they said.."bring him back or get out."

Later... I hit a party near the Flagler College campus held by Wendy Ruggiero. Great party, awesome martinis, and stellar music. I must say it was one of the better college parties I've hit.

Feb.25 - Boring last few days. I got a call from Mori Vladis about doing something on an upcoming tribute cd to Less Than Jake (I still say..'they're NOT Punk), but it's $1,500 to make. I told him I'm interested, but I can't commit until I learn more.
Let's see...*smokes*...I lent my guitar services to the boys from Asscrack Craze and I'm being told the demo cassette will be out sometime this week. 100 cassettes will be going out this wednesday night at Love Fest held by Wendy Ruggiero & PartyHrtyProductions.

March 1 - I started working on the latest Pro Tools gear for my album. Two tracks left. I want to say the record will be out by May...if all goes as planned.
I'm going to be appearing on a Dj compilation cd...DON'T ASK!!, but I'm doing the guitars for Nelly's Number One tribute track. Who the fuck buys these cds?!

March 7 - I just confirmed an appearance at this year's Amber Fest. I'm doing a twenty minute set and I might be doing some dj work if time permits. I'm also going to be doing a meet and greet near the Lucky Room. Girls...I am one of the few allowed triple up at the Lucky (((hint, hint))). I'm also going to have a few items for sale near closing time, so bring cash if you wanna get rare stuff.

March 9 - The Amber Fest set has been extended to thirty-five minutes, I only wanted twenty, but I'm doing PHProductions a favor. I'm still doing the meet and greet, but please be patient post-show as I'm going to only have two roadies and well over $10,000 worth of equipment to have packed away and secure. And no...my bandmates don't help out (lol).

If you're going to Amber Fest and you want guitars/basses autographed -->PLEASE<--- take them up to the tourbus POST-meet and greet, not Post-show. Last year a Fender Telecaster went missing for two weeks b/c no one bothered to check out when and where I do these signings. The signings are also free, I saw six guitar pics of mine on sale on ebay last year for $10 each. You can get my sig for FREE!!!
