    Macros

Making your own...and figuring out what the others are.

Macros are time and click savers. If you consistantly set up your heading or paper one way, you can record a macro, so with a click of one button your paper will be automatically formatted. Macros are used all the time in word, works, excel...pretty much any programs with icons on the toolbars. Sadly enough people get paid to make marcos to save us time; they're easy to make, but can take a long time if you're recording a hundred steps.

Depending on the program, you can record a marco, it's just not always in the same place. Once you find it in the menu, click record a marco and do some normal task in that program. If it's word set up a heading, or columns, or some feature you use all the time. Stop the recording when your done and save the macro. You have just made your own macro. Now instead of doing the 4-5 steps you normally do to complete a task you now can just do it with a single click of the button.

There's definantly a huge advantage to using macros to do things. Every Icon, even on your desktop is a macro. If you click a file all the work going on in the background to open that file is a marco because it has to go to your hard-drive, the directory, the folder...etc. Macros have really changed the computer, making it even more user friendly. For those who do graphic editing you can set macros to auto-enhance things and set it up so that it's ready for you. Instead of going through a hundred mouse click, with one you accomplish the same purpose.
