[view of the Shokan throneroom. Goro is standing by a window. Kitana, accompanied by guards, walks into the room.] Kitana: "Goro. We are here to offer the Shokan a treaty for truce. The Centaurs have already signed and agreed to all terms. We now await your acceptance."
[Goro turns, and walks towards them.] Goro: "War has been waged in this realm for too long. We must bring it to an end. I will set aside my differences with the Centaurs, as long as they abide by the treaty. I shall sign your agreement."
[Goro turns around and folds his arms. Kitana walks up to him and touches his arm.] Kit: "Goro, this is a great victory... for all of us."
[Suddenly, Kung Lao's hat flies by. It strikes Goro and knocks him to the ground. The guards and Kitana jump out of the way to evade it. It returns to a high ledge, where Kung Lao is standing. He grabs the hat and puts it back on.] Kit: "Kung Lao! We are at a moment of peace! How could you attack now?"
[Kung Lao leaps down. Kitana's guards approach, but she motions them back.] Kung Lao: "I once thought an allegiance with an enemy was a lost cause, Princess Kitana."
[Goro stands up. He has a huge gash across his chest resulting from the attack. Kitana steps aside as they talk.] Gor: "Was that your attempt at an assassination, Earth man?" Kun: "No - that was a ceremonial strike of revenge, for my ancestor that you killed in Mortal Kombat so many years ago." Gor: "And do you wish to continue this battle?" Kun: "No. I wish only to settle the differences between us."
[Kung Lao takes off his hat.] Gor: "Your ancestor was a great man, and a brave and noble warrior. You should be proud of his accomplishments. If he won, perhaps it would be my own son seeking to settle differences with him."
[Kung Lao and Goro shake hands. Kitana sighs in relief. The two warriors' hands glow bright green, and as the screen fades out this glow stays present for a long time.]
