3/24/03 2:40PM: Let There Be Light, Part 2
Backlog, backlog, backlog. I spend my days playing catch-up, to no avail... But in the downtime, I have a new toy: GameBoy Advance SP - It's bright, it's beautiful, and it's about time. Compared to the Afterburner modification, the picture is clearer and there's no problem with bubbles or dust getting into your self-installation. The built-in battery is very nice indeed, and requires little charging for a lot of playtime. It's not as comfortable to hold as the GBA, but the new control pad seems to me to be more accurate and easier to use. The only real bad thing about the unit at all is the removal of the headphone jack; an extra $5 adapter is required. For me, it's instantly revitalized my interest in the GBA, and it's definitely a winner.

3/21/03 2:51PM: Mini-Review Time
It's been a while since I've done this, no? Final Fantasy X-2 (PS2 Import) - My first impression after going through the first ten minutes of the game could be summed up in a single word: "FanDisc". J-Pop, Dress-Up, and oodles of Fan Service. But, there's a game in there as well, one that so far matches up with the original FFX. With a return to a job system, Active battles, and much less linear gameplay almost from the beginning, it's definitely a different experience, but very enjoyable so far. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (PS2 Import) - As the title says, it's just a small step up from the original VF4, but a great one. Two new characters, a new very entertaining Quest mode that fixes up the sometimes tedious play of Kumite mode from the first, and tons and tons of secrets and items to unlock. Easily the best 3D fighter available on the PS2... until next week, anyway.

3/8/03 6:21PM: I'm not dead yet.
Despite rumors to the contrary, I am alive and well. Well, alive anyway. From the "It's about freaking time" department, contributor contest winners for January and February have finally been announced, and over 50 new FAQ Bounties have been added to give you something to write about if you're so inclined. The rest of March should bring us some minor improvements and new features across the site, assuming nothing goes horribly wrong between now and the end of the month.
