Dum Dum Girls

when everything was better
you know love was all it took
these people send me letters
and i write them back a book

honesty and trust
they are a poor man's wealth
but no one ever loves someone that hates themself

people seem to understand when they are being used
some will shake my hand
and some they just refuse

we'll fly you first class
we'll show you second rate
you know everybody loves us
these people think we're great
now come on inside
i hope you enjoy the ride
you'll travel around the world
with the dum dum girls

Someone must have died
and we became the queens
you know that i'm always right
you know i know everything

i make all the rules
most of them i've broken
i'll play you for the fool
and speak for the unspoken

cuz people seem to understand
when they are being used
some will shake my hand
and some they just refuse

we'll fly you first class
everybody loves us
these people think we're great
so come on you clowns
no we wont let you down
you'll travel around the world
with the dum dum girls

i've opened up a lock
i've put away the key
and no one better try to
take that away from me

NNMaddox: "Never before has hate been so pop with this song. This is one of my most bitter tracks. I dressed it up with the bounciest beat. It is most certainly about two specific people. I think it fits them perfectly as does the graphic I use in the liner notes for this song.

Obviously this is an ode to Iggy Pop's 'Dum Dum Boys'. I've always been a fan of that song and the album The Idiot, so I thought I'd give it a salute with this song."
