Hi everyone ! I'd like to introduce you to my homepage in which I'll be telling you a little bit about myself, my hometown and some festivals we have in certain time of the year.
My name is Myint Myint Thwe. I used to be a mathematical teacher in high school over 30 years. I have four children, a son and three daughters.
My hometown is Taunggyi which is the capital of Shan State. It is situated 7412 feet above sea level. The town is on a steep mountain and is mainly inhabited by Shan people ethnically not related to the Burmese but rather to Thais. It is the fourth largest town of Myanmar.
Around Taunggyi is the famous Inle-lake and the city of Pindaya which attracts most of the tourists. In the month of November we have lights festival feast called Tazaungdaing, where people offering gifts like robes, cash or in kind to the monks. It is also known as the Balloon-flying festival, where balloons are made of Shan papers.
It is just a little taste of my town and I hope some of you would try to see it in reality one day.
