Pygmy
goats originated in Africa and were imported to the US in the 1950s.
As
its name implies, it is smaller than the dairy goat, but it produces an
acceptable amount of milk.
A
lot of people raise them for show or fun instead of using them for meat or
milk.
Pygmy
goats are easy to raise and handle, and they are also affectionate, cute,
loveable, and playful.
They
weigh around 40-70 lbs, and they are usually 16-20 in. high at the shoulders.
Young goats or kids as they are sometimes called can be available anytime of
the year.
