1983 Macgregor 25 Sailboat for Sale

Enjoy one of the best pocket cruisers in production as you realize the benefits of a mid-size boat with shallow draft capabilties.  This 1983 Macgregor 25 is in great condition and loaded with extras!
These include, but are not limited to:

Standard Features:

This is one of the best Macgregor 25 sailboats you will ever find.  It is a joy to sail, relax on, and sleep in.  My favorite thing about the boat is its versatility.  It can be trailered easily, can sail with the best of the larger boats, and can beach or run in shallow water. I have sailed with up to 13 people on board.  For comforts sake, 6 or 7 is a good number.  It sleeps 2 in the V-Berth, 1 on the sofa, 2 on the dinette(converted), and 1 in the quarter berth.

2000 Yamaha 4 stroke 9.9 saildrive motor
I recently purchased on 5/16/2003 a brand new motor for the boat.  Though it is a 2000 model, it has never been sold and does have a manufacture's warranty until 2006.  It is a great motor and has the torque to push the boat around at about 10 knots.  It is electric start and has a Forward/Neutral?Reverse shifter right on the tiller handle.  It also has a high output alternator to keep the batteries charged..  Oh, and if you run out of juice, it comes with an emergency pull start.

Pop Top
The poptop allows you to increase the headroom in the cabin. It can be covered with the dodger if it is cold or rainy.

Autopilot
The Simrad TP10 autopilot is very handy to have when singlehanding.  It frees you up to raise sails, relax, or anything else you need to do.

Depth Finder

Trailer
The trailer  has lights, a 2 inch ball, a winch, and is in good condition.  It is black and is single axle.  The boat trailers well and is easy to set up once you get the feel of it.  I have always had at least one other person to help, though Macgregor and other sailors say you can raise the mast by yourself with the winches.  It takes about 25 minutes to set the boat up and get it into the water.

Why sell?
As you can tell, I do tend to brag on my boat.  I am very happy with it and could stay that way for years to come.  But, foot-fever has hit me and I am currently in the process of purchasing an Ericson 28.  No way can I afford 4 boats at once, so all but one have to go!  If you check below in my page, you will find my other boats for sale.

 $6700obo
If you do not wish to buy the motor with the boat, I can sell just the boat for $4800obo.

Currently, the boat is at slip 2/18 at Grandpappy Point marina on Lake Texoma.  I would be more than happy to take any serious buyers on a test sail.  The trailer is at a friends house.
I work MWF 6am-6pm and Thursday from 8am-12pm.  Any time I am not working is a good time to go sailing!
Call John at (903)815-7209 for any questions or to arrange a test sail.  Please leave a message if I do not answer.
