The Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Explorer Post has been an intricate component of the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Department for nearly twenty years. We are accredited through the Santa Clara Council of the Boy Scouts of America Explorer Division with unit supervision provided by a sworn member of the Police Department.
The Boy Scouts of America provides supplemental insurance coverage for all Post members. The Post abides by all rules and regulations of the Exploring Council and the Police Department.
The intent and purpose of the Post is to provide disciplined and motivated young people with an opportunity to "explore" law enforcement as a possible career choice. To that end, we attempt to expose members to all facets of police work - from riding with an officer as he or she works a beat, to writing reports and participating in community events.
In addition to the great opportunities in learning about the field of law enforcement, Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Explorers participate in many fun activities such as an annual ski trip, river rafting trip, and fundraisers. These activities help members get better acquainted and enjoy a safe, social activity.
