Yet More Glitches Added
Posted Tuesday, March 4th, 2003 by starcraftsector

Even more glitches have been added to the glitches page. Blizzard really had better get to fixing these glitches. They've been around for so long yet they have been doing absolutely nothing to fix them.

Another New Glitch - Stasis Archons
Posted Sunday, March 2nd, 2003 by starcraftsector

Another new glitch was added, but it's one without much practical use. It allows you to have the stasis field graphic over an Archon even when stasis is gone. It doesn't let you stay invincible, however, and therefore isn't very useful. Check out the info on the glitches page.

A new glitch has been discovered that allows you to land on an Interceptor and crush it. If one of your buildings is being attacked, you can land it on an Interceptor to destroy it. Visit the glitches page for more information.

The ZDS Bot now comes in a newer build, 2090, and it now comes with the hashes necessary to run it (apparently we skimped on the hashes before). You can now download it from the bots section.

Land Engineering Bay On Buildings
Posted Friday, February 21st, 2003 by starcraftsector

Some of you know of the "glitch" that allows you to land an Engineering Bay on top of other buildings to destroy them. This isn't a glitch, it's a hack. In fact, it's the stack hack, the same that we have here. You turn off the lights, and then float the Engineering Bay down and land on buildings. Turn the lights back on, and you see the building crushed and destroyed.

Tank Glitch - No Crush
Posted Friday, February 14th, 2003 by starcraftsector

Someone finally submitted a way to put a tank under a building, like the old days, yet not have it be crushed by the building. Check out the glitches page for information. It is now, however, a somewhat useless glitch, because units will still attack the tank in the building, instead of going for the building first.

New Hack - Ally Alert
Posted Friday, February 7th, 2003 by starcraftsector

A new hack has been released, Ally Alert 3.0. It's key features are:
-Tells you who is allied to you, allied and allied victory, and unallied to you via in-game text message
-Three state map hack
-Name Spoofer
-Unban Hack

Looks like an excellently compiled hack. It is available in the FMS here.

SC Hackers Take It To A New Level
Posted Saturday, February 1st, 2003 by starcraftsector

Hackers have taken hacking to a new level over previously just map hacking. What they can now do is duplicate their own buildings over and over eachother. This can be seen in this movie. Watch the Sunkens, you'll see what I mean.

Posted Friday, January 10th, 2003 by starcraftsector

Many, many people have been registering at the forum and then never posting or doing anything else there. It clearly states on the registration page NOT to sign up if you do not intend to post. All idle accounts are periodically deleted to save space. Why do people sign up without the intention of ever posting? If you want to register and post, please do so, otherwise, do not bother registering - it's pointless.

In Need Of More SSOTW's
Posted Monday, January 6th, 2003 by starcraftsector

We are desperately in need of a new Screenshot Of The Week. When I reinstalled Windows on my computer, I lost all of my emails because they were in the Documents and Settings folder, which got overwritten when I reinstalled. Therefore, even though I had a lot of screenshots in store, they're long gone now. The first few people will get their screenshots posted.

Crush A Tank
Posted Monday, January 6th, 2003 by starcraftsector

Why do people still submit the "Crush a Tank" as a glitch? It was programmed to do that. Before this was done, you could land a building on a tank and the tank would then be unreachable by melee units, and you could attack from under it. You'd need to kill the building before you could get at a tank. You could also put multiple tanks under one, and get very many extra hitpoints this way. For the last time, Blizzard programmed it this way - it is not a glitch.

FMS Completed
Posted Friday, December 6th, 2002 by starcraftsector

The File Management System (FMS) has been completed. It is based on pafiledb (pafiledb). Currently, the FMS can be viewed here. You can then navigate to a category to download something in that category. We may take the current pages for hacks, bots, and other files and have them load up the FMS pages in an iframe in the center of the page instead of having it completely the FMS and no main page. We'll see what happens. The unveiling of the new FMS also gives way to many newly uploaded files. Check them out inside!

Redevelopment of File Management System
Posted Thursday, December 5th, 2002 by starcraftsector

We have found that the old file management system, which was fully integrated with the vBulletin forum software we run, has become unworkable. To download a file, you need to first an account. We were going to have a special account for downloading with all of the features disabled, but we've found that disabling the option to change a password requires a little bit of coding that we just don't want to do. We have reworked it all to use pafiledb, and we will have a style designed for it and we will probably have the categories load in an iframe or something on the file's page.

File Management System
Posted Sunday, December 1st, 2002 by starcraftsector

I am working on finishing up a file management system for this site. It should enable me to very easily add/remove/update various files around the site. The reason there really hasn't been many updates in that way to the site is because of how tedious the work tended to be. Depending on the success of this system, it may enable me to do many more updates than I was previously able to do.

Nothing To Do?
Posted Friday, October 11th, 2002 by starcraftsector

As many of you know, the StarCraft world has been very stable and uneventful recently. No knew patches have developed or anything else new. Apparently, two new bugs (maybe more, I haven't seen any more though) have been discovered: a method of burrowing a Zealot and a method of building a cloaked Zerg building. I'm looking into the burrowing Zealot glitch, and I'm going to test the cloaked Zerg buildings glitch right now.

UPDATE: The cloaked buildings glitch does work online and not offline or so it seems. I was only able to get it to work online. I will create a special glitches page for the glitches.

Updates
Posted Sunday, September 22nd, 2002 by starcraftsector

Recently I've done a little behind-the-scenes work. First off, I realized that the StarCrap that was posted would only work on 1.09. I found one that should work on 1.09b (current version).

Second, I've added some comments around the pages here to make it easier to update. I also reformatted the way the HTML in the menu pages was set up to make it easier to add/remove entries. I realize HTML isn't that hard of a computer language (in fact it's downright easy), but the HTML format was all wrong before and I've fixed that. The comments are just there as separators basically. For those who don't know, comments are pieces of code used the help the reader of the code figure out what an adjacent piece of code means. Comments are ignored by the browser when they are generating the page and are only viewable by viewing the source.

I updated the quote with a new one from the forum's quote database.

The poll was also updated regarding Blizzard's new title StarCraft: Ghost. Please vote if you can.

I've also updated the Screen Shot Of The Week.

The only new forum news now is that we have installed a glow hack which allows you to post glowing text (only works in Internet Explorer) such as this: If you are using Internet Explorer, this text is glowing.

Anticipation - Over
Posted Thursday, September 19th, 2002 by starcraftsector

NOO! StarCraft II is a no-go now. This is what Blizzard now says on their site:

StarCraft: Ghost Revealed at Tokyo Game Show
Today at the Tokyo Game Show Blizzard Entertainment announced its newest product under development, StarCraft: Ghost. In this 3D tactical-action console game set in the legendary StarCraft universe, players will take the role of Nova, a lethal Ghost operative trained in the arts of espionage and tactical combat.

As a Terran Ghost, Nova will employ an amazing array of physical and psionic abilities. Nova will also have access to a host of hi-tech weapons and vehicles, some of which will be familiar to players of StarCraft and Brood War.

Check out the official announcement in our latest press release. You can also see more of Nova, her adversaries, and some of the interactive 3D environments that she'll be infiltrating at our new StarCraft: Ghost Web site.

Anticipation
Posted Thursday, September 19th, 2002 by starcraftsector

Well, we're all awaiting what the outcome of the countdown on Blizzard's site is. You can see that at http://www.blizzard.com, they now have the counter at less than an hour. There is an image behind the counter that so far has people speculating a zergling, a marine, a ghost, the Xel' Naga, or Kerrigan as a ghost. Every hour the image seems to get clearer. I've been watching it for a while now.... This could be the announcement of their new game which could very likely be StarCraft II! We'll see....

Glitches
Posted Monday, August 26th, 2002 by starcraftsector

Recently, a series of glitches in StarCraft have been discovered. I will list them and state how to take advantage of each. These will most likely be patched in the next version of SC.

Float A Drone
Floating a drone is easiest when done at the very beginning of a game because you can only have 50 minerals. You place one Drone on Ctrl+1 and one Larvae on Ctrl+2. Press 1 to select the Drone and tell it to build an Extractor. While it's on it's way to the location, hold shift and right click where you want the drone to float to. Quickly press 2 to select the larvae and tell it to turn into a Drone. When the other Drone gets to the Extractor location, there's not enough minerals left, and the drone will float straight over everything to get to the location selected before.

Cloak Burrowing Zerg Units
For this glitch, you need an Arbiter and any burrowing Zerg units.Set the Arbiter on patrol over a short area back and forth over where the units are and away to a point where they uncloak. Now, burrow the units uncloaked. Wait until the Arbiter comes to the point where the units would just be cloaking and unburrow. Then, run like mad away from the Arbiter. These units should stay cloaked permanently.

Walking
This isn't as much of a glitch, but if an SCV, Drone, or Probe is told to mine minerals, it will go straight through any units in it's way. It ends up walking right through them.

Push
This glitch is typically used in Bound games. What you do is if there is a wall of units, you burrow one unit and put another unit right on top of it. Then, unburrow the burrowed unit and the unit on top will either run through the wall or disrupt the wall and make it move.

The server move from Aletia to Tera-Byte went very smoothly. The support staff at Tera-Byte is superb. All of my support requests were answered in under 10 minutes, and this is a huge company. Anyway, the forum ( http://www.starcraftsector.com/fs ) has been completely migrated to the new host and there should be no problems. I still need to fix a few things on the main site like submitting links and submitting affiliate applications and fixing links - especially those that lead to subdomains, which this host doesn't support. Anyway, if you find any more bugs than this, please don't hesitate to email ( celeronxl@cox.net ) me.
