The Block Program will help you learn more and learn faster!

Many Block Program instructors work together in planning their courses. For example your English 1 teacher and your Core 3 teacher may coordinate your reading and writing assignments. Your lab teacher may coordinate problems in chemistry with environmental issues you're studying in Core 3. The Block Program will give you a strong foundation for your future studies at Brooklyn College.

Trained peer advisors and peer tutors provide support for block program students. These are more experienced students who already know the ropes. They can help you find your way around the college, help you understand your assignments, and help you feel more confident and in control.

The Block Program will help you meet new friends and form study groups!

The Block Program will help you meet new friends. In the Block Program you'll see familiar faces. You'll have someone to turn to for help -- and you'll be able to help them! You'll have people to study with, have lunch with, and talk and laugh with.

The Freshman Block Program schedules the same group of students for the same required classes. You will find yourself a member of a true learning community with an instant support system. Some of the people you meet in the first weeks of class will be your friends throughout college. Some of them may be your friends for life!
