Eugenics

At the end of fiscal year 2002, the Wayzata School District (#284) of Minnesota, spent roughly 12.1 percent of its entire budget on special education. That figure of 12.1 percent of the budget accounts for roughly 8.8 million out of a total buget of 72.5 million dollars. On the other side, less than 1 percent (roughly 668,000 dollars) of the district budget was spent on gifted and talented programs.

With its creation in the mind of Plato, and his Ideal Republic during the times of acient Greece, to its modernization in America and else where, Eugenics, although not widely recognized, is one of the most important social issues that our society, and species must deal with in the near future.

I would like to state here, that I personally am in favor of the practice of eugenics being implemented into our society, as long as certain restrictions are made. My specific viewpoints are better described within the paper I have written, which is slightly below this paragraph. I have included links on this site to groups, sites, and articles that are either proponents, or opponents to eugenics. I believe that you can not truly make a personal decision on the issue without first learning and researching as much as possible about the opinions on both sides of the issue.
