The Delta Pi Scholarship Foundation officially organized in December of 2003, although its inception can be traced back to the Fall Semester of 2000 at Georgia Southwestern State University.  The foundation was created through the work of Chris Kinsey, DP 2000 and the first appointed Board of Trustees.  Although the foundation first began with the Charles Johnson Kinsey, Sr. Memorial Chi Phi Scholarship, it was the untimely loss of a brother of the Delta Pi Chapter, Henry D.T. Rowell, that ultimately led to the organization of the foundation.

The Delta Pi Scholarship Foundation is sponsored through Delta Pi Alumni Association and currently oversees all operations related to the scholarships of the Delta Pi Chapter.  It is the goal of the foundation to promote the academic progress and service potential of Chi Phi brothers of the Delta Pi Chapter while honoring those for which all of the sponsored scholarship are named.
