Message from the

Alumni Association President

As a member of the Delta Pi Chapter of the Chi Phi Fraternity, I know that it takes hard work in order for goals to be met.  With 2009 upon us, I hope that the Delta Pi Alumni Association will remember the times and commitments we had as active brothers and continue to shine that light onto their status as alums.  My vision as president of the association is to focus on recruiting new members in order to further enhance the potential of this great association.  Not only are we reaching out to the alumni that have recently graduated or transferred, but also the older brothers that made Delta Pi the number one chapter it continues to be today.

This coming year, the Alumni Association is planning to conduct a major fundraiser in order to help offset the cost of events and different functions so that more alums can see the benefits that their contributions allow.  Brother Chris Kinsey is our new vice-president and he is currently working on our social calendar for the first half of the new, upcoming year.  I know he will do an excellent job with planning these events for our brothers as well as events that are family-oriented.  This year we have established both fundraising and social committees to help Brother Kinsey with these important tasks.  The following brothers will help serve on these committees: Michael Jenkins, Lee Everett, Josh Curtin, and Jonathon Scott.

Our association can only be as good as its active chapter.  In order to help the active chapter to continue to grow and succeed, the Alumni Association is conducting a recruitment workshop in January for the chapter’s newly initiated brothers.  Also, the association is conducting a “brother’s only” retreat in February so that the actives can get together and plan events, organize the business of the chapter, and most importantly work on bonding as a brotherhood.

With the brothers we currently have in the Delta Pi Alumni Association, as well as the brothers that will graduate and join us in May, I know this association will continue to grow, succeed, and prosper.  To those alums that have been out of school for a while, please find it in your hearts to support our association with your time or donations.  Let’s do everything we can to make sure that our chapter stays strong and that our new brothers have as wonderful a time as we had as active members.  Lastly, please remember this quote, “It has come a long, long way.  And we just got one more thing to say.  Listen closely as we can stand tall; get the hell off our backs because we will never fall.”
