Communications |
- How to use it
- How to make a contact
- How to stay professional
As members of CREST, we have a responsibility to promote our
image as a contributing member to other REACT teams and the general public.
Please remember, when using GMRS:
- You need a GMRS license to
operate any GMRS radio.
- Use plain English [CB & other
"TEN" codes are not used on GMRS communications
- Monitor the frequency using "open
channel" or always verify no one else is using it. There is nothing more
embarrassing [or less professional] than someone who "just starts talking" when
a transmission is always in place.
- Identify yourself every 15
minutes on long communications, and when clearing the channel.
In an effort to assist you, this information regarding
"using the repeater" will assist you on the radio. |
