The Bell UH-1 helicopter, more commonly known as the Huey, was well adapted for jungle warfare. The Huey could fly really low and at slow speeds, land in small clearings, dodge enemy fire, and carry lots of stong weapons! ^_^
it also transported troops, equipment, supplies, and support troops to the field. It also provided more firepower for troops on the ground, and took the dead and wounded away.

this plane was designed in the late 1940s to carry nuclear bombs on long-range, high-altitude missions to targets in the Soviet Union. the B-52 Stratofortress performed great under many different types of settings in Vietnam.B-52s flew tens of thousands of low flying, bombing misons in North and South Vietnam, and Cambodia. The tons of bombing missons didn't stop the cong as much as they might have been able to in a more traditonal war, but the B-52 showed very important in containing or breaking up North Vietnamese offensives, disrupting supply lines, and bringing the Communist forces to their knees!

To stop enemy anti-aircraft fire and counter MiG attack fighters, the US used the F-4 Phantom's alot. Armed with a 20 mm cannon and air-to-air missiles, the fast, maneuverable Phantom also served as a bomber. F-4s also prepared target areas by dropping loads of chaff, radar-reflecting metallic fibers, to scramble enemy radar.
Specifications
Light enough to be carried by the average soldier, and tough enough in a firefight, the M60 general purpose machine gun proved itself in many combat situations. The M60 fired up to 550 bullets at a range of over 1,900 yards. The M60 could be fired from a bipod or tripod or from the hip. one setback was the weight of its cartridge belts. this limited the amount of ammunition that could be carried into the field.
Redeye Anti-aircraft Missile
Since the North Vietnamese Air Force was only a threat to US bombing in the North, but not to American bases in the South, anti-aircraft weapons weren't used that much by US forces, but they were still kept on hand. The Redeye, a short-range shoulder-fired missile launcher, is what was used.

theese are only some of the new weapons used in vietnam, but they are some that were very vital. well, Thanks for staying awake through my presentation on the new weapons used in vietnam! thats all!
The M16 rifle, standard issue for infantrymen was also an important new weapon. It fired at a rate of 750-900 rounds per minute on automatic setting, or as fast as a soldier could pull the trigger. The rifle had an effective range of about 435 yards. Before a late 1966 redesign, the M16s didnt work well when wet, dirty field conditions, and often jammed during combat, resulting in numerous casualties.
Soldiers often carried fragmentation grenades, which could be thrown, or propelled accurately at distances of about 150 yards using a rifle-mounted launcher. Carrying grenades through thick jungle was pretty dangerous though. Fuse pins sometimes could catch on undergrowth and pull from grenades, resulting in unintentional and deadly explosions.
