T H E   S O L A R   S Y S T E MThere are nine planets in our solar system: Mercury | Venus | Earth | Mars | Jupiter | Saturn | Uranus | Neptune | Pluto |
Spacecrafts have visited all of the planets, with the exception of Pluto, the smallest and most distant planet. They have revealed a wealth of different features on the planets, including mountains and valleys, craters and active volcanoes, colored ring systems, poisonous atmospheres, and polar ice caps. Earth is still the only planet in the Solar System where we know that life definitely exists, although scientists are continuously looking for signs of life on all of the other planets.
