FOUNDATIONS OF DISTANCE EDUCATION AND TRAINING    This was my first class back to UOP after taking a year off.  It was the appropriate course to begin this program because it taught me the principles of adult education.  It really was the foundation course as appropriately titled.

ADULT LEARNING: THEORIES, PRINCIPLES, AND APPLICATIONS  This course was interesting and I learned about andragogy vs. pedagogy.  It was also interesting learning about different learning styles and how teachers need to be cognizant of those learning styles.

INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN This was a fun course because it allowed me to think about how I would instruct a class. I was able to develop a training plan and low and behold I chose "How to teach kids baseball."  This course was an interesting perspective on how difficult instructional design could be.

ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION IN E-EDUCATION I loved this course because I learned a lot about alternative assessments, and how important they are when assessing different learning styles.  We actually had to do a portfolio for this class, which I really want to do for myself once this program is over.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Ah, this course was right up my alley.  It was actually a combination of many of the courses that I took with MSCIS.  I fought to get this waived, but they wouldn’t do it.  The teacher told me that I could have taught the course myself.

RESEARCH AND ETHICS IN E-EDUCATION  This was the scariest course of all.  When I started the course the first time I was deeply involved in a very high profile project at work.  I saw the workload of this course and after the panic attack; I decided to bow out very early.  I had never done that before, but it wouldn’t have been fair to my teammates or me if I had stayed.  When the project completed I started back up again and even though the workload was heavy I really enjoyed the topic of research.  It was a great course.

INTERNET AND DISTANCE EDUCATION DELIVERY  This was a great course that showed ways that courses can be delivered on the Internet.  I used an example of an Online Training Delivery System (OTDS), which is something my company is trying to implement.
