I began freelance work as I worked on updating my computer skills at Columbus State University. As I sat in the computer room working on an assembler program for a computer that was 20 years old, I decided I wanted to do more of the interface design stuff for database inputs, reports, web pages, etc. It wasn't long before I realized that some students were doing their final projects in HTML, with polished input screens for the databases they had worked on all quarter. One evening, as I was working on an online tutorial by Cisco put together by its Cisco Academy, I realized the impact and importance of interactive training systems. So, I changed my emphasis from studying programming to designing Web Pages and Interactive educational solutions. All correspondence to me can be addressed to webdesigner43081@lycos.com
I worked for myself, realizing just the education students at Ohio State would pay for me to help them set up educational solutions for their students. In 2003, I officially obtained the company name,The Lambert Group which was a multimedia design company designing web presences for small companies and educational interactive interfaces for students.
Off work, I spend time riding my bike around Central Ohio. My longest bike ride so far is 35 miles from Westerville to Delaware. I also enjoy woodwork, having built two of my own pieces of furniture. I especially enjoy working with Cherry and Mahogany, but can barely afford the lumber. I enjoy the arts in several capacities. I believe the arts taught in the schools round out a student's education. Learning to play an istrument is not only learning a skill, but learning new ways to think musically. I studied violin from the 4th grade, I received a partial scholarship at Otterbein College, studying music and Education. I served on the Arts Council Committee for Otterbein College, where I learned how different performing groups were scheduled years in advance, and funded through grants. Recent years have seen a cutback in the funding for the education of students in the arts, and as such, the students' arts experiences.
I first started out designing webs using HTML, and checking out all the books I could find out from the library. That's when I discovered how easy it was to use Stylesheets :
