| During the year when DeMolay was founded, pickles were very well like and one of the main crops grown in and around the Valley. When the divisions where founded in the Nor-Cal Jurisdiction, the newly elected Valley Divisional Officers wanted a theme that would represent the Valley's history but also something that was fun and would set them apart from everyone else. They looked and looked…but they fought for days over ideas on what the theme should be. Some wanted gold others wanted a bear and the poppy was also brought up. But finally someone suggest pickles. At first, they were skeptical if they liked the idea but then it began to grow on them. It was what they wanted, something that represented the Valley's history and also something fun that would set them apart for everyone else. The pickle was decided on and it soon grew into the theme for Valley Division. Is THIS the TRUE story???? You be the judge! |
