The Thomastown 6's were created on the 7th of Febuary 2005, Darren was at an Indoor Soccer training session when stadium management asked me to make a come back to Indoor Cricket
Darren (c) went around to visit long time friend Paul (vc) and asked whether he was interested in playing, of course, the answer was yes, and now we needed 4 more players.
Darren went next door to visit long time friend Nathan, but he turned down a lucrative contract with The Thomastown 6's, still in need of 4 players.
Darren asked his older brother Adam, who said yes, 3 players under contract, 3 to go.
Paul decided he would ask his friend Anthony to play, Anthony, a very in-experienced cricketer who relished the oppurtunity to join a great up and coming Indoor Cricket Team and put pen to paper signing the contract.
Darren & Paul both asked Justin for his services, and Justin having played a very successful Junior Career with Darren and The Predators, Justin was jumping at the bit to get back into it, and of course, signed on right away.
Still in need of one player, Darren and Paul weren't sure where to turn to, then Darren remembered the days of street cricket when Paul's cousin came to visit, Edward, a gun cricketer in the Outdoor Form of the game and former Premiership player in the Indoor Version had no doubts about joining up with The Thomastown 6's and we had our final player!
The Thomastown 6's were ready, and the team sheet was handed in on the 10th of Febuary, we were allocated 1 Grading Game and we went away thinking of good times ahead.
A lot has happened since the team sheet was handed in. Anthony, who has been unable to play on Sunday, Monday & Wednesdays due to his Life-saving job at Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre. The Thomastown 6's have had a few fill in's down the line.
Nic Mauceri & Nic's older brother Chris have both played, Nic playing a few more games than Chris, as Chris... well, wasn't too good. Chris also had a friend fill in for us, by the name of Shaun, Shaun was a decent bowler and batter, and classy in the field, it's too bad, I'd never met him before that and havent met him since then.
Darren then called on work-mate Paul Xurebe. Paul has been playing Outdoor Cricket for about 7 years and was asked to fill in, his performances have been so good, that we have decided to play him his required 6 games to be eligable for the finals series. Paul will notch up the 6th game on the last game of the season and will produce great things in his 1st full season next season with The Thomastown 6's.
