Clan Campaign Announced!

Clan PMM announces: Troll Wars: Uprising! Troll Wars: Uprising (TW:U) which will allow players to jump into a time before the first Orcish invasion. They will jump into the shoes of Chief Harraxe, a prominent Troll Chieftain. Harraxe and his clan, the Blood Axes, will mount numerous assaults upon Azerothien forces, and slowly make their way to the ultimate prize in Southeast Azeroth: the Crystal Cathedral. Along the way, the player will be able to fight in numerous, varying battles which will further the engaging storyline. Masses of new models (produces by Werewulf, Trollschnitzle, Jigrael, and Pins) will be in the campaign, for both the Troll and Human forces. The project will be supported by all of Clan PMM (which has an experienced team of leaders, such as myself, TerranUp16, and Mapper300). The campaign is expected to be done in 3-4 months.

Balance Wars
Balance Wars Released!

New Balance Wars ScreenshotYou Can See the Secret Random Hero (the Void Master) in This Shot

Balance Wars Beta F has now been released. Balance Wars is an army-based footmen wars-like map. You can select 1 of 16 "duos". Duos are combinations of two units that spawn to create your army. You can also select the Random Race which spawns 1 of the 32 total units each time (aka, a random unit each time a unit is spawned). The map focuses on the army, but while the heroes may only be support, support is still quite helpful. The map offers a wide array of custom heroes (25 total custom heroes, and the regular 24 WCIII heroes are in the game, plus Akamah and the Elven Ranger, which count as normal heroes, brining that count to 26). The player can choose from 1 of 51 heroes to bring into battle, each with their own unique style and strategies. The map features a massive amount of depth, as battles are huge (most of the time in a 3v3v3v3 game, a typical battle in the middle will have a total of around 400-500 units battling). Flanking, two-pronged attacks, etc... all have a large impact. The game also allows players to purchase a wide variety of units. This also greatly adds to the depth. Players must spend their money wisely. There are four kinds of upgrades in the game: (the Necromancers and Banshees duo also has a 5th specifically geared to help them and also to increase depth) Attck, Defense, Special, and Hero. Yes, you can actually get upgrades and items to turn your hero from support, into that one-man-army like in Frenzy. Players must decide what to spend their gold on, as what a player does with their gold is very important. Maybe they should buy a Priest to heal their troops? Maybe buy some Mortar Teams to lay siege upon their enemy? Buy items and the Hero Upgrade for their hero to make it into a one-man-army? Purchase Attack, Defense, and Special upgrades to improve their army? These are just a few of the choices players will be forces to make in this deep, fast-paced game. Clan Website and Balance Wars Tournament!

www.polarmaps.net is our new clan website. It's currently under construction, and doesn't have much on it yet, but worry not for that will change. We will also hold a Balance Wars tournament very soon (probably around the end of September). ONLY CLAN MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE! The winner will receive the status of Shaman until the next tournament, and the three runners-up will receive the status of Grunt if they do not already hold it. The tournament will consist of 1v1v1v1 battles. The winner and runner-up of each match will move on. This will eventually leave us with 4 people. These 4 will fight it out for the title of Champion and a position as a shaman. If you don't have Balance Wars Beta F, please take the link above and you can download it. Once you have it, practice, practice, practice until the tourney! Here are some Balance Wars Screenshots:

Clan is Expanding!

Clan PMM is expanding to Act of War: Direct Action. If you play this game, or intend to buy it, notify me. The clan will be based on a system of military ranks (for instance, since I am the leader I am the clan's 5*General). The map tools will come with Patch 3, and the mod tools will come with Patch 4, so we will keep out focus on mapmaking still, but will also put a large focus on obtaining good, experienced player. On a side note, the website will be done by month end. I don't yet have confirmation of the url.

Clan Formed!

The clan was recently formed on Battle.net and sports more than enough members, with many primed to join as soon as I and they are online at the same time. The clan website is scheduled to be up soon (by end month hopefully), and I will post the url and exact date of launch as soon as I have those things as the Message of the Day in our clan channel (Clan PMM). At this point, I am only announcing one person who shall be a shaman, and that is redscores (who will take the job as head of the spells division, I head up the map division). I will hold some kind of tournament or something to see who the next two shamans will be (most likely a Balance Wars tournament, so if I ask you to help me test it, it might be a good idea to help out and get better aquainted with the map). In any case, the tournament takes care of at least one shaman, and I expect the other spot to go to the person with the highest Bnet rank. The remaining two shaman spots are reserved for a head artist and a head trigger creator most likely. I wish to thank all of you for joining the clan and I hope it will benefit everyone. Remember, this clan's primary focus is mapmaking and everything that goes into that. We are working to eventually build a self-sufficient community of mapmakers, with available tools, models, spells, triggers, icons, terrain, etc... from other members. Remember, an artist is just as valulable as the mapmaker himself. When I believe the clan has grown to sufficient size, I will also attempt to organize a clan map project. Also, to the many testers currently in the clan, all of us mapmakers must thank you. Your job, though easy, is much needed. Without testers to privately test maps (to keep them underaps and so no bugged versions leak out to the general public), and give constructive critism (ahem, that's right, constructive, since some of the mapmakers in the clan are a little new at this), creation of wonderous maps like WinterMaul: Remade would never be possible. Once again, I'd like to thank all the clan members for joining the clan.
