Heavy fighter practice is held the first Sunday of every month directly following the business meeting at Timrod Park in Florence. The business meeting will begin at 2pm. (SCA TIME APPLIES) Weather permitting, of course. If in doubt, contact our Seneschal, Lord Robert The Banished.
Loaner gear is available. Please bring your own beverages and plenty of them. Spectators are also welcome, so feel free to brings friends. Children are welcome when supervised.
Directions:
Take your best route to I –95 - exit 160 east (This is the I- 20 Spur aka
David Mcleod Blvd).
*** If you are coming from the west, take I- 20 east and don’t get off it.
I- 20 eastbound turns into David Mcleod Blvd
*** Follow David Mcleod Blvd until it dead- ends into Hwy 76. Turn LEFT
on Palmetto (Hwy 76). After the 2nd light, you’ll come to Five Points. Turn
right onto Cherokee Rd. (to the immediate right of the Sav- Way). After
the 2 nd light, you will go about 3/ 4 mile. At the bottom of a small hill,
you will cross a bridge & immediately turn LEFT on Coit St. – the park
will be on the left, and a Piggly Wiggly shopping center on the right. Take
the next LEFT on Timrod Park Dr. You will see a historic one- room schoolhouse
on your left, then turn LEFT into the parking lot.
Once you have reached Timrod Park, park behind the tennis courts, look for a bridge, cross the bridge and practice will be to the right. A map will soon be available for this event.
