LUXT's legendary sound was thought of and put into motion by the wonderful and oh so beautiful Anna Christine and Erie Loch in 1996. It was a side project from Immedia; a band that Erie and Anna where a part of before LUXT.
LUXT is based out of Sacromento. A city now with an obsession. The whole band call Sacromento their home. Where they breathe, see, feel, and work LUXT. Althought they do have there mundane day jobs, the rest of their life revolves around LUXT. Cyber Voodoo Rock (an actual trademark) is what they call their sound. Here is an explanation by real life band member Erie Loch "Cyber as in the mixing of machines, or in our case, electronic instruments and human elements. Voodoo as in mischief, or something a bit dark or dangerous without taking itself too seriously. And Rock because we use heavy guitars but don't cling to a 'metal purist' ideal or claim to be part of a certain genre, but rather choose to use a looser term and let the actual heaviness of the music speak for itself. We got sick of people trying to force us in to one particular 'box' and labeling us as 'industrial' or 'metal' etc. So we figured we'd come up with our own name for our sound. One that showed we had a sense of humor as well as a taste for the ugly." Over 400 shows after their conception LUXT is still going strong. Godsmack, System of a Down, Rammstein, Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, Papa Roach, Audiovent, Alien Ant Farm, are just a few of the bands that LUXT has opened up for. 2003 promises to be the year of LUXT. A new CD entitled "American Beast" is due out in mid-January on their new label. So, get ready!!
