Coalition Against Trafficking in Women (CATW) Houston Chapter Now Forming
Yes, there is a sex-trafficking problem in Houston. Were you inspired by Alice Leuchtag's pieces on "Sex-Trafficking" and "Legalization of Prostitution" (both aired on The First Sex)? Then please help us establish a Houston chapter of this US-based international organization which has a Category II consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council.

Power Dynamics Study Group (Amazon Study Group)
Focus: Empowering women. This group focuses on the power dynamics at play in our society. We will analyze how power is made manifest in our society, the acquisition of power, disemination of power, power-sharing dynamics, power as a function of patriarchy, power concept and control issues within personal relationship, power in the media, redefining partnership, power within a global context, corporate power. We will look at media manipulations, and ways that power is routinely taken from us, and how we routinely give up our power. Combination of a discussion, movie, book group.
