The Homeworld War:

This mod has its origins in a very odd location - my own diseased brain. I've been planning this mod for a while and banging it around in my head. And what you'll see here is far from complete. But it IS a hunk of progress.

Relic Forums: There's a hell of a lot of people here who've helped me. I don't remember all of you. Swifferized, Delphy, SvK, you bozos all did a ton.

SvK deserves special mention. I downloaded MOST of my base weapon effects from him, and twiddled with them until I achieved this maybe-not-wonderful mod here today. I downloaded: Compound Death, Trek Torpedoes, Long Piercing Ion Beams, Flak Hit, DYRL gunpod, DYRL missiles. That's about it, I think.

CnlPepper: I also used a smattering of effects from your weapon mod. Not to mention I've put your B5 jump point hyperspace effect into this mod. It doesn't look great. But it's going somewhere, at least. I used the red ion, yellow particle, purple discharge, white discharge, and a handful o' others that I'm too lazy to list.

Delphy: Thanks for listening to my incessant whining about ships! I used delphy's HWSE. Go get it. Now. It's worth it. Delphy's Lair, enter if you dare...

BIG IMPORTANT NOTE THINGY: I am not yet done with this. MOST of the Kushan side is //somewhat// done. The destroyer is the latest. It's probably worth the download to play around with. Sorry for the big download.

UPDATES!! 11/02/02

Yes, I have updated! There are three juicy new screenshots, showing the new Kushan multibeam frigate, and other things like the finally tweaked expanding plasma cannons!! And the I N S A N E Taiidani Destroyer with 24 guns, plus a few more I'll add in later...

Other things that will happen when I upload Homeworld War v0.2.zip... you will see the basic version of the new Taiidani Heavy Cruiser, with 8 beams and six heavy rapid fire mass plasma emitters in action! All new, reblanced, everything. Changed tactics and tweak and formation.scripts to a completely different mentality, with neutral tactics giving the result of formation being held while aggressive has pilots that will randomly kamikaze, go on long drawn out bombing runs and everything. There is much more subtle balancing for the taiidani, their beams have been changed mostly to the yellow particle pulse blasters. I've also tweaked the Kushan railgun fire events so it's more dakka-y and shooty like. The bullet event itself has been ported from Cataclysm and then tweaked to the inital bullets. Looks a lot better. I'm HOPEFULLY gonna be updating in the next two weeks, with a MUCH more comprehensive database of screenshots, a new .zip, an index for said database of screenshots, everything. But that's with hope.

LONG RANGE PLANS:

This involves making new .peos... the end results will be the completed Kushan corvettes, maybe the Kushan Standard Frigate will be inserted (a devastating anti-fighter ship with flak railguns) and the Kushan Standard Destroyer and Long Range Missile Destroyer will also be up-gunned, with the LRMD getting six plasma guns to the SD's four, plus each Destroyer getting an additional barrel on each of its railgun turrets... the next step is putting a whole shitload of turrets on the Kushan Mothership. The thing is gonna be covered in guns, estimates have upwards of 32 antifighter and corvette guns. Maybe even some higher-calibre guns capable of damaging frigates. The point is, the Kushan Mothership will D E F I N A T E L Y be getting some guns. Decent guns, capable of popping swarms of fighters. Thassall, folks.
