A disappointing second round match as the only goal of the game came late on, and it was delivered by Oliver Neuville for his first goal of the tournament. The first half was very disappointing as the match just couldnt get going to be a classic second round encounter.
On the day, Germany were a lot stronger in attack and defense and had most of the chances.
Paraguay's best chance was sent well over the bar by Ayala. Then late on in the match, Acuna was sent off for elbowing Ballack.
