Where and What is KEC? Kasota East Camp is located on the shores of Sylvan Lake. Your child will stay in a heated cabin with, counsellors and 6 or 7 other campers. Meals are served in our large, "noisy" dining hall. Two other large meeting areas are available for crafts or rainy day activities. (It never really rains at KEC, only liquid sunshine!) A wash house with showers and toilets is available for all to use.
What will your child be doing? During a
week at camp your child may experience the following activities: canoeing,
swimming, crafts, nature activities, games, discovery or "God chats", music,
drama, outtripping, hiking and crazy campfires! Brief vespers services allow us
a quiet and thoughtful way to end our days. Please don't be alarmed if you
child comes home with a huge bag of laundry, singing crazy songs, and telling
unbelievable stories about their nutty counsellor's ridiculous wardrobe.
Staff Our program staff and staff counsellors are carefully screened, well trained and Certified with First Aid and C.P.R. All volunteer counsellors have completed a Counsellor in Training program and are raring to go! With the exception of the senior staff .... this place is entirely run by teenagers! Come and see for yourself .... it will warm your heart and renew your faith in the adolescent!
Transportation Parents are responsible for the transportation of their child to and from camp. Please check the arrival and departure times carefully.
Requests If your child is new to Kasota, we will do
our best to honour requests made to be with other campers. However, we cannot
guarantee that all campers will be able to stay with their buddies.
Waivers Due to a change in policy by our insurance company, all camps are required to complete a waiver for each participant, prior to the beginning of camp. We. apologize for the additional paperwork, but we have included a wiaver in this package. Please fill it in and send it along with your child's registration form and medical form. We are not permitted to admit a child into camp without having all three of these forms completed. If you are having a friend or relative deliver your child to camp, please be sure that all forms have been completed and that the staff are aware of this occurance.
Confirmation All participants who have registered prior to June 30th will receive a postcard in the mail to confirm their registration. If you have registered after this date, please call the camp to confirm your spot.
Visitors and Mail For security reasons, we do not encourage families to visit their children while they are staying with us. If you must see your child, however, we would ask that you call ahead of time so that we can arrange for you to visit without upsetting other campers. Campers love to get mail! Mail can be sent to the address listed on this form, or given to the staff to deliver throughout the week.

Counsellors In Training!
Our Counsellor in Training program is the backbone of the future of KEC! Counsellor's in Training (or CIT's as we like to call them) are enthusiastic individuals who are looking for a challenge, personal growth, or simply another camping experience. The program combines leadership training sessions with good old camping fun!, Some of the training includes leadership, communication, canoeing, parenting, discipline, and program planning for children of all ages! CIT's must be at least fourteen years of age by the end of June!
You don't have to have any camping experience!
The cost of the program is $175.00 for the week long program. CIT's have a choice of three sessions, Only ten candidates per session so please sign up quickly!.
All CIT sessions begin at 4.00 pm on Sunday and end at 7-.OO on Friday!
Session A =
July 2 - 7
Session B = July 23 - 28
Session C = August 13 - 18
