- Golden Sun Boss Info

Here are the stats for the bosses in Golden Sun. I have only got the first few at the moment as I am replaying the game to get the stats. I am fairly sure that everything on this page is accurate although if it isn't accurate please e-mail me. I will try and get some pictures of the bosses as soon as possible.

Thief 1, Bandit, Thief 2

Place: The Inn at Vault

Recommended Level: around 4

HP: Thief 1 - 100HP, Bandit - 200HP, Thief 2 - 100HP (all are estimated figures)

Elemental Weakness: Any element attacks.

What you get: 66 exp, 110 coins and Bandits Sword (atk + 12)

Strategy: This has to be one of the easiest boss battles ever. Use Flint on the bandit, have Ivan and Garet use their most powerful Psyenergy attacks with the big arrow always on the bandit as he has twice the HP of the others. Sometimes these guys use a herb to heal which isn't a problem. Just continue the process using either Isaac's cure to heal or use herbs but only when your party is low on HP. You shouldn't have any problems.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: None

Tret

Place: Bottom of Tret tree in Kolima forest

Recommended Level: around 8

HP: 700 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water)

What you get: 226 exp, 700 coins and a Potion

Strategy: Put all you Djinn on standby for this one. Summon everything you got against this guy at the start then blast away with psyenergy attacks. Garet's are the best as Tret is weak to fire. Use Issac to heal or use herbs. Keep using djinn as well. Once they have recovered unleash them. Granite is good for defence and Breeze to boost resistance.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: ?

Saturos

Place: Mercury Lighthouse (near Imil)

Recommended Level: around 13

HP: 1200 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mercury (Water)

Elemental Resistance: Mars (Fire)

What you get: 331 exp, 800 coins and a Psy Crystal

Note: Mia will recover 4 pp per turn regardless of anything else as this is the Mercury Lighthouse and she is a Mercury Adept.

Strategy: This is a tough early battle but not that hard. Issac or Mia should heal anyone if their HP goes below about half as Saturos has some powerful attacks. I had 2 djinn on each character at this point and I put them on standby before the battle so I could hit him with summons at the start. After that heal with Mia or Issac (both if it gets bad) and use your most powerful psyenergies. Mia's attacks well do the most damage as Saturos is weak to water. Use Granite when you can to create a barrier that blocks some damage (not a lot) and after a while of this strategy you will fell Saturos.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: ?

Killer Ape

Place: End of Mogall Forest

Recommended Level: 14

HP: 1000 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Jupiter (Wind)

What you get: 460 exp, 1500 coins and the Douse Drop

Strategy: This guy has some powerful attacks so don't let your HP drop too much before you heal. Ivan is likely to be the most badly affected. As usual put all Djinn on standby before the battle and hammer this ape with all the summons you have. After that heal anyone who is hurt using Mia or Issac (or herbs) and attack with your most powerful psyenergy. Garet is the best here as ape boy is weak to fire.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: War Cry, Debilitate (drops defence)

Living Statue (there are 3 of these but not all in the same fight)

Place: Altin Peak

Recommended Level: 15

HP: 500 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water)

What you get: 377 exp, 900 coins and a Vial

Strategy: Not technically a boss, I know, but I'm including it :P Anyway these guys all are the same and have a pretty powerful attack. As usual go into the battle with all Djinn on standby and unleash those summons. Also make sure you go into the fight with max or high HP. Not a lot else to say, my summons took them down. If yours don't for whatever reason just use your most powerful psyenergy for another round, healing anyone if they need it, and that'll do the job.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: Tundra

Hydros Statue

Place: Bottom of the Altin Peak mine.

Recommended Level: 16

HP:  1300 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water)

What you get: 496 exp, 2400 coins and a Lucky Medal

Strategy: Basically a bigger, badder, uglier version of the Living statue. As always hit him with your summons from the start and then use powerful psyenergy and djinn to wear his HP down. Use Mia or Issac to heal, preferably Mia as her attacks are weak against the Hydros Statue. He will go down after a while (hopefully you won't).

Enemy psyenergy attacks: Froth Sphere, Ice Horn, Drench, Water Blessing

Manticore

Place: The end of Lamakan Desert

Recommended Level: around 17

HP:  1700 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mercury (Water)

Elemental Resistance: Mars (Fire)

What you get: 590 exp, 3400 coins and a Psy Crystal

Strategy: You should have one or two level 4 summons by now so hit him with those right at the start and all your other summons. Then heal with Mia and/or Issac. You may need to use Cure Poison too as Poison Tail is nasty. This fight isn't that hard just make sure you keep everyone's HP high and use your most powerful psyenergy attacks. Use your Djinn and then summon them if need be.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: Poison Tail, Impair, Mad Blast

Kraken

Place: On board Tolbi bound ship.

Recommended Level: 19

HP:   2400 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water)

What you get: 711 exp, 5200 coins and some Water of Life

Strategy: I had all my level 4 summons at this point in the game so I unleashed them on this big thing. That does him a whole lotta damage. This guy can cause a hell of a lot of problems. He can heal himself with Ply, he can infect you with a really nasty poison (cure immediately if this happens) and he has a nasty normal attack. Use defensive moves as well as healing and using your most powerful psyenergy. I suggest using powerful psyenergy with Garet and Ivan and healing with Mia and possibly Issac. This is after the summons of course which do a lot of damage. As long as you get all the level 4 summons this fight isn't gunna last long.

Enemy psyenergy attacks: Froth Sphere, Dark Blessing, Poison Beat, Ply

Note that I skipped a few bosses at this point as I have lost the info on them but here is the guide for Saturos and Menardi and The Fusion Dragon. (which is probably what you wanted)

Saturos and Menardi

Place: Top of Venus Lighthouse

Recommended Level: 30+

HP: 3000 each (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water) or Earth (Venus) - I can't work it out, anyone know?

What you get: 6000 exp, 7800 coins (irrelevant though as the game ends after this and you won't be able to use this stuff)

Strategy: Make sure that you have all 28 djinn before going into this fight and also make sure that you are above level 30 and have a few psy crystals with you. Put 4 djinn on stanby on each character and unleash those level 4 summons on the first turn. Next you may well need to heal Ivan as quickly as possible. With Mia use Wish Well nearly every turn and with Garet use your most powerful psyenergy, do the same for Ivan and have Issac use either psyenergy attacks or healing to help Mia. Before this battle is over you will want to use your djinn again so that you have some on standby to give you level 4 summons against the next boss. Concentrate your firepower on Saturos as his attacks are the most powerful and then once he goes down take Menardi to pieces. This is not the final boss! Beware you don't get any time at all to heal between this battle and the next.

Enemy psyenergy attacks:

- Saturos: Heat Flash, Potent Cure

- Menardi: Death Size, Fiery Blast, Impact

and now: The FUSION DRAGON!

Place: Top of Venus Lighthouse right after Saturos and Menardi

Recommended Level: 30+

HP: 5000 (estimated)

Elemental Weakness: Mars (Fire)

Elemental Resistance: Mercury (Water) or Earth (Venus) - I can't work it out, anyone know?

What you get: ?

Strategy: After watching Saturos and Menardi fuse this HUGE dragon appears. He has a whole lotta HP. IF you already have level 4 summons let em rip. These do a ton of damage. Judgment and Boreas do about 1000 damage each. You should use similar tactics to the ones that you used to take down Saturos and Menardi. Use Wish well with Mia almost every turn again, Ivan use djinn, summons and psyenergy, Garet does the same and Isaac should also do the same. He'll go down eventually leaving you to watch the end of game cinematics

Enemy psyenergy attacks: Outer Space, Drain Fang, Evil Blessing, Dragon Driver, Break

CONGRATULATIONS!, YOU HAVE COMPLETED GOLDEN SUN!
